It now seems those questions have answers, as Xbox officials suggest CoD 2024 will be the franchise's first to launch on Game Pass from day one.
During a podcast released on February 15, 2024, key Xbox figures, including Phil Spencer (Microsoft Gaming CEO), Sarah Bond, and Matt Booty, discussed the platform's future, indirectly hinting at the game's Game Pass debut.
Further hints came from Xbox's official X (formerly Twitter) account, stating, "Game Pass will continue to only be available on Xbox platforms and will have all first-party games playable on day one." This statement, coupled with Activision Blizzard's new status under Microsoft, implies that CoD 2024 will be accessible to Game Pass subscribers without additional purchase costs.
Phil Spencer has reassured that the game's launch strategy will not affect its availability on PlayStation consoles, emphasizing a commitment to releasing Call of Duty titles on PlayStation simultaneously with other platforms.
