Barbie Challenges GTA 6 in November

Grand Theft Auto 6 finally has some competition in November 2026, although it is probably not the kind anyone expected.

Barbie Rewind is set to launch just one week before Rockstar’s huge release, creating one of the funniest gaming matchups of the year.

GTA 6 is expected to dominate the industry when it arrives. Fans have been waiting since 2013 for a proper follow-up to GTA 5, and the game is widely expected to deliver another massive launch for Rockstar.

Its release is considered such a major event that many publishers appear to be avoiding November completely. Several big games are arriving earlier in the year, while others, including Fable, are not coming until 2027.

Barbie, however, is not moving.

Barbie Rewind Is Not Afraid of GTA 6

Barbie Rewind was announced during IGN Live on June 6. The collection includes 16 Barbie games released between 1991 and 2007.

It brings together titles from platforms such as the Super Nintendo and Sega Genesis, along with one previously unreleased game.

The collection itself caught plenty of attention, but the release date quickly became the biggest talking point.

Barbie Rewind is scheduled to launch on November 12, exactly one week before GTA 6 arrives on November 19.

The timing immediately went viral, with the community joking that Barbie was the only gaming icon brave enough to challenge Rockstar in November.

Community feedback quickly turned the two releases into a fake rivalry. Players joked that Rockstar thought it had the entire month to itself, only for Barbie Rewind to appear and ruin those plans.

Others claimed that only Barbie was powerful enough to go up against GTA 6, while some jokingly questioned whether Rockstar should now be worried about its sales.

Fans also began creating videos that placed the Barbie Rewind and GTA 6 logos over fight scenes from franchises such as God of War and Dragon Ball.

Of course, the rivalry is entirely for fun. The two games are aimed at very different audiences, so it is unlikely that either one will seriously affect the other’s sales.
