GTA 6 fans reportedly fake Rockstar IDs and fly drones to spy on studios

Stories of fans trying to see the game early are nothing new. In 2024, reports surfaced of people driving to Rockstar’s New England studio late at night and looking through the windows.

Others even managed to reach the front of Rockstar North’s studio in Edinburgh, where they spotted unreleased posters.

These actions have often worried other fans, who believe this kind of behavior only pushes Rockstar to stay quiet and slow things down even more.

According to recent reports, these repeated attempts may have even made Rockstar consider delaying the game’s physical release.

Fans reportedly using drones and fake IDs

A report from Polish outlet PPE claims that some fans have taken things further by pretending to be Rockstar staff and using drones to try to capture gameplay footage through windows. These claims were later supported by well-known voices in the GTA community, including YouTuber KiwiTalkz.

KiwiTalkz shared that he has heard many extreme stories over the years from people close to Rockstar. According to him, some fans would be willing to break into retail stores or manufacturing sites to steal copies of the game, while others try to sneak into Rockstar buildings directly.

He also said that developers have told him about fans attempting to access studios by faking IDs or flying drones near office windows in hopes of getting photos or videos of GTA 6.

Anyone caught trying to break into Rockstar property would likely face police action and criminal charges. If anything, that would only delay their chance to actually play the game.

Rockstar has dealt with serious leaks before. The teenager responsible for the major GTA 6 hack in 2022 was sentenced to live in a hospital prison due to safety concerns. As of early 2026, there has been no update on his release.
