GTA 6 PC release reportedly targeting early 2027

GTA 6 could arrive on PC within months of its console debut, with a new report pointing to a release in the first quarter of 2027.

As the November 19 console launch approaches, PC players are still waiting to find out when they can explore Rockstar’s next open world. Questions also remain over the arrival of the game’s online mode, which has been linked to a 2027 launch.

Now, GamesBeat reports that Rockstar is targeting a similar window for the PC version, potentially making the wait considerably shorter than it was for GTA 5.

GTA 6 PC release reportedly planned for Q1 2027

In its October 13 report, GamesBeat cited four anonymous industry sources familiar with Rockstar’s plans, placing the PC launch between January and March 2027.

Rockstar has not publicly confirmed that window. According to GamesBeat, a representative did not respond to its request for comment before publication.

If that schedule holds, PC players would get GTA 6 just a few months after its arrival on consoles. That would be a much quicker turnaround than GTA 5, which launched on consoles in September 2013 before reaching PC in April 2015.

Questions remain over GTA 6 Online and streaming

The reported PC window also follows comments from Twitch CEO Dan Clancy suggesting GTA 6’s online component will arrive next year. Rockstar has yet to announce an official release date for online play.

Meanwhile, Xbox CSO Matthew Ball pushed back on a separate report claiming Xbox would hold exclusive streaming rights to GTA 6, which had raised hopes of another way to play on PC.

“While the excitement for GTAVI and XBOX is great to see, it has also led to some misreporting,” went around on X.

For now, early 2027 remains a reported target for the native PC version, with an official announcement from Rockstar still pending.
