GTA Leak Reveals Expanded Liberty City and Early GTA 6 Map Assets

A reported 192GB leak of Grand Theft Auto development files has sparked fresh discussion about GTA 6’s map and the possibility of returning to Liberty City.
The material reportedly includes early Leonida assets, an expanded version of GTA 4’s setting, and content associated with cancelled GTA 5 projects.
While the Liberty City discovery has fans talking about future DLC, its appearance in the files does not establish any connection to Rockstar’s plans for GTA 6.
Early GTA 6 map assets reportedly reveal Leonida locations
Files circulating on September 18 are said to offer a rough look at several locations across Leonida, including downtown Vice City, an international airport, a stadium, docks, and a cruise terminal.
The images show basic structures with limited detail. Buildings mostly appear as simple blocks, making the material more useful for comparing locations and layouts than judging how the finished game will look.
According to the account shared by YouTuber TJGM, the files appear to contain only part of the map and may consist of level-of-detail assets, which represent environments at reduced complexity.
The assets reportedly date from 2020 to 2022. If that dating is accurate, they reflect an earlier stage of development and could differ substantially from the final map.
Expanded Liberty City fuels GTA 6 DLC speculation
Another discovery attracting attention is a larger version of Liberty City, reportedly linked to an abandoned expansion for GTA 5 or GTA Online.
TJGM described substantial additions to the city, with a file labelled “new terrain” also drawing interest.
That has prompted speculation that Rockstar could revisit the location in a future GTA 6 expansion. However, the reported files relate to older development work, and there is no confirmation that Liberty City will appear in GTA 6 or its DLC.
For now, the discovery offers a possible glimpse at a cancelled project rather than evidence of an announced expansion.
Cancelled Trevor content also reportedly appears
The reported leak also includes unused GTA 5 vehicles and material associated with a scrapped Trevor-focused expansion.
Trevor’s cancelled storyline has been discussed publicly before, with elements of the abandoned project reportedly finding their way into GTA Online’s Doomsday Heist.
GTA 6 previously suffered a major leak in 2022, when early development footage showing Jason and Lucia appeared online.
These latest reported discoveries have renewed interest in Rockstar’s development history, particularly the projects and locations that never reached players.
