The Generation VII Meteor Pokémon Minior has arrived in Pokémon GO through a specialized event structure tied to real-world astronomical cycles. Titled Minior Showers: Orionids, the activation runs from October 19 to October 24, 2026, bringing boosted wild spawns and substantial resource rewards.

Because Minior features unique combat form transformations and seven distinct core color varieties across the franchise, understanding the mechanics of this initial rollout is essential for collectors and competitive players.

Minior Showers: Orionids Event Schedule & Bonuses

  • Event Window: Monday, October 19, at 10:00 AM to Saturday, October 24, 2026, at 5:00 PM local time.

  • Peak Spawn Window: Minior encounters increase significantly between 5:00 PM and 9:00 PM local time each evening.

  • Base Catch Bonus: Every captured Minior awards a baseline of 1,000 Stardust, making fast-catching during peak hours one of the best resource-farming periods of the season.

  • Nighttime Sky Effects: The in-game map features visual shooting stars throughout the evening spawn hours.

Pokemon GO Minior Meteor Form vs Exposed Core Form Mechanics

Shields Down: How Form Changes Work in GO

Minior (Rock/Flying) enters battle inside its defensive shell, known as Meteor Form.

  • Meteor Form (Above 50% HP): Features high defensive base stats and reduced offensive attack power, allowing it to withstand early shield-pressure moves.

  • Core Form (Below 50% HP): Once HP drops below half, Minior triggers its Shields Down transformation. Its outer shell breaks away to expose its core, drastically flipping its stats to boost Attack and lower Defense for late-match closing damage.

  • Featured Core Color: For the Orionids event, wild encounters feature the Green Core variant. Future real-world meteor showers across 2026 and 2027 will unlock the remaining six core variants.

Event Timed Research Tasks

All players receive free access to the Minior Shower Timed Research in their Events tab:

  1. Use a Star Piece: Rewards 1x Star Piece

  2. Catch 10 Minior: Rewards 7,740 Stardust

  3. Power up Rock or Flying-type Pokémon 5 times: Unlocks an additional Minior encounter

Note: A small percentage of lucky trainers report receiving a rare bonus branch rewarding an additional one million Stardust upon completing high-tier exploration goals.
