Roblox could soon change how players discover new experiences by introducing an AI-powered search system that understands detailed requests. While the reported feature may make finding specific types of games easier, some players fear it could leave smaller creators behind.
Roblox hosts an enormous collection of experiences across nearly every genre imaginable. However, the platform’s current search tools can make discovering something new difficult, especially when players do not already know the name of the game they want.
According to Roblox RTC, Roblox is testing an AI-assisted search feature designed to interpret natural language. Instead of entering an exact title or basic keyword, users could describe the kind of experience they want and receive relevant suggestions.
Roblox AI search may offer more personalized results
The reported system could allow someone to search for a phrase such as “a game similar to GTA 6.” Roblox would then recommend experiences featuring related elements, including open-world environments, vehicles, crime, or police gameplay. Games like Jailbreak and Prison Life could potentially appear in those results.
A player searching for experiences similar to Grow a Garden might instead receive recommendations for farming games, simulators, or idle experiences built around comparable mechanics.
This approach could help users discover games outside Roblox’s most visible titles. It may also reduce the need to search external websites or social media for recommendations.
Some community members believe the feature could improve Roblox’s currently limited discovery system. Players supporting the change say it could deliver more relevant suggestions based on individual interests, provided that the AI produces accurate results.
Smaller Roblox developers fear reduced visibility
Not everyone is convinced that AI recommendations will improve game discovery. Some players and developers worry the system could repeatedly promote popular experiences because they already have large audiences and strong engagement numbers.
If that happens, smaller or independent games may struggle to appear in recommendations, even when they closely match a user’s request.
There are also concerns about how the feature might affect exact keyword searches. Smaller experiences often rely on players entering specific words or titles to find them. If AI-generated recommendations take priority, those games could become more difficult to locate.
Roblox has not officially explained how the reported search system will rank experiences. It is also unclear whether traditional title searches will be affected or when the feature might become available to more users.
