Valorant fans aren’t holding back their disappointment with the 2025 VCT Capsules, calling them a “downgrade” compared to last year’s designs. Fortunately, Riot Games has confirmed that the capsules will be open to updates and customizations throughout the year, offering hope for improvements.

VCT Capsules Return for 2025

The popular team bundles have made a comeback after their debut during the 2024 season, which saw esports organizations and players – including Jordan ‘Zellsis’ Montemurro – competing to dominate sales charts. While the first season of capsules created some memorable moments, the initial reaction to the 2025 release has been less enthusiastic.

Why Are Fans Upset?

The 2025 capsules stick with the same Classic weapon skin model, a decision that has frustrated many players.

Riot’s Head of Valorant Esports, Leo Faria, explained that the weapon wrap is meant to feel like a team jersey, something fans want to update each season. However, players feel the designs are too similar to last year’s and lack innovation.

The good news? Riot Games has confirmed that the current bundles aren’t the final version. Teams can tweak their cosmetics throughout the year. This flexibility is even mentioned in the in-game descriptions, where Riot notes:

“This content may change (even frequently) to reflect the team’s branding choices.”

With the door open for updates, fans are hopeful that the 2025 capsules will eventually live up to their expectations. Until then, players will have to wait and see how teams take advantage of the opportunity to make their branding shine.
