What Happened To Valorant's Replay System?
The replay system may be one of the most demanded features from Riot to add into Valorant. Riot made it clear that the Replay system is not near launch, although this was months ago, so where are we now? And why is it taking so long?
Valorant replays are indeed under development, and the tech team at Riot is working super hard to bring this to the general playerbase.
But what is taking long? Marcus, The Tech Lead in Riot explained that the system heavily impacts the performance and consistency of the game, which is the main cause of concern as Valorant is designed to be optimized for competitive play.
Another issue is that the Replay system hosts many deficts, such as glitching doors or delayed utility, missing textures and many more.
Marcus added that Rioters are going to correct every one of those deficts into the replay system, all while not breaking the live game that everyone plays.
This is very time consuming and difficult to navigate, which is why the replay system is taking long.
But there are good news! Riot is on track to provide further updates in 2025, more about the replay system, its progress, and potentially the expected release date.
