We all know Esports get competitive, and that may result in friendly banter or trash talk between the players and teams. Many have different opinions on what is the limit of trash talk or if you should even do it in Esports, but we can definitely agree it is a thing and it can make the scene more entertaining.

What Happened?

G2 and Sentinels have this rivalry between them which always gave fans a fun to watch match. it's entertaining and healthy for Esports. In the latest match crowning the #1 seed for VCT Americas, G2 took the victory over Sentinels with a very tight scoreline (3-2 final score)

Valyn, the in-game leader of G2 made a tweet saying "don't look at my banner" which definitely sparked the curiosity of readers.

They went on to find out, valyn has a picture of his matches against Sentinels, which are all victories. This is obviously friendly banter between the teams.

After this tweet, Rob Moore the CEO of Sentinels replied to the matter. He implied that Sentinels are the one who had better performance overall, and congratulated G2 for bringing their first tropy to the "unhinged fans" of the organization.

This definitely sparked some tension, it started circulating around twitter with many sharing mixed opinions. Some don't like that Sentinels CEO seemed to take it too seriously, while others enjoy it and think it's all fun and jokes.

Rob Moore then doubled down and brought up G2's "F you Sentinels" meme that was back in Masters Berlin. He also mentioned that it's impressive the team core stayed together (From The Guard to G2) and finally said that their fans are unhinged.

A reply came from JonahP who said he respects Sentinel's CEO for being so passionate about his team, but also made it clear that it is not within G2's ability to control their fans, and that goes for Sentinels too. It seemed to be a serious reply, although very respectful.

Eventually, this is all banter between Esports teams and players. They all know the deal, nobody takes it to heart and it is not serious. It is best to not spread tension around and enjoy the show, as this is what makes Esports, entertaining.
