Valorant Pro Receives Backlash

Over a recent incident, Valorant professional player for Sentinels Zellsis "Jordan" is receiving a lot of backlash over saying a certain word that is offensive to some. Although there are mixed opinions on whether what the player did was wrong, it is certain that it brought a lot of attention.
What Happened?
It all started with a fan who watched the Sen City podcast brought up the occurance of Zellsis saying the "R-Slur" which is offensive to some people.
The post gained a lot of attention considering the variety of opinions, there are those who say it is normal and should not be taken seriously while others think it's inconsiderate and unnecessary to say.
Although, Jordan took no time to apologize for the incident to ensure he does not upset his fans further. He also asked for no one to defend him; knowing the backlash that is going to result from the heated discussion about the "r slur"
The comments under his post vary all the way from people disliking that he apologized, people that like his apology, people who don't feel it was genuine all the way to sarcastic replies that are just friendly banter.
It is also no surprise a word like that is not often thought of as "offensive" as it is normalized in gaming communities as a substitute for the word "Idiot" or "stupid" but that does not justify it's use, rather explains why it was wide spread in the gaming community as a whole.
