Valorant's Weakest Agent Needs A Buff

Valorant's Weakest Agent Needs A Buff

Valorant’s meta has been shifting quite a bit over the past few months. Riot Games has introduced new agents like Tejo and Waylay while also making adjustments to existing ones.

Most agents have seen some sort of change, for better or worse. For example, Cypher, who was finally getting picked more often, got hit with nerfs in patch 9.10, putting him back in a more balanced spot.

Skye’s Struggles in the Meta

On the other hand, Skye has been struggling to stay relevant. She’s been part of Valorant since 2020, and for a while, she was a go-to pick. But she hadn’t seen any real changes since patch 9.04.

It wasn’t until 10.03 that she finally got some attention—outside of bug fixes, at least. That update gave her Seekers a buff, slowing enemy dashes, but it didn’t do much for her overall pick rate.

Right now, according to Tracker.GG, Skye’s pick rate sits at just 2.4%, ranking her as the 20th most-used agent. That’s way too low for an agent of her caliber. And things might only get worse since Bind is being removed from Competitive play.

At Masters Bangkok, she had a solid 43% pick rate on Bind, but across the entire event, that dropped to just 7%.

Being a strong pick on only one map isn’t great, especially when that map is getting taken out of rotation.

How Can Riot Fix Skye?

Skye’s win rate is also lower than some of the least-picked agents, which is a sign that she needs some help.

One way Riot could fix this is by tweaking her flashes. Making her Guiding Light ability rechargeable or swapping its cost with her heal could make a big difference.

Her flashes were super strong in the past, but instead of just nerfing them, Riot could reduce their duration while making them rechargeable to keep them balanced.

Riot recently admitted that Clove has been "overperforming" in Ranked, so they made some adjustments in patch 10.04 to bring her back to a more balanced state.

Hopefully, Skye is next on their list because if Riot doesn’t step in soon, she might disappear from the meta just like Bind is disappearing from Competitive.
