Riot Removes TALON Esports from the VCT

Riot Games has officially terminated TALON Esports’ partnership agreement with the VALORANT Champions Tour, removing the organization from VCT Pacific. The decision comes after a series of financial and operational failures that violated the league’s standards.

According to Riot, TALON showed a recurring pattern of overdue payments to its players and could not provide proof of the financial stability required to continue competing at the highest level of the regional circuit.

Once concerns surfaced about delayed salaries and other financial issues, Riot began working closely with the organization. The league spent more than a month reviewing the situation and even granted multiple extensions to allow TALON to correct the problems.

Talon Fails To Meet Riot's Criteria

Despite the extra time, the organization was unable to demonstrate meaningful improvement or meet the requirements expected of a partnered VCT team.

The players impacted by the removal have already been notified and are free to pursue opportunities within the broader VALORANT esports ecosystem.

Riot has also contacted several teams across the APAC region through a selective application process to find a new organization to join VCT Pacific for the upcoming season. More information will be shared once the selection is complete.
