Fortnite Lets Players Drive the Battle Bus

Fortnite is adding a new feature in Chapter 7 Season 2 that changes how matches begin.
For the first time, players will be able to drive the Battle Bus instead of just riding in it. This is a major shift, as the bus has always been controlled automatically in past seasons.
One Player Gets Control Each Match
In every match, one random player will be chosen to take control of the Battle Bus.
That player will guide the bus through rings in the sky. Passing through these rings will reward all players on board with extra experience points and spawn supply drops at those locations.
This adds a new role at the start of each game, where one player can help everyone before they jump onto the map.
Passengers Can Still Take Part
Even if you are not chosen to drive, you can still interact with the feature.
Players can thank the driver and even give them extra experience as a tip. This keeps the familiar system but adds a small new way to support the person controlling the bus.
How Much Control Will Players Have
It is still unclear how much freedom the driver will have.
In previous versions of the game, the Battle Bus always followed a straight path to keep things fair for all players.
With a real player now in control, there may be small changes to the route, but it is not confirmed how much it can be adjusted.
