Microsoft's Phil Spencer, CEO of Xbox, said Call of Duty is set to join Xbox Game Pass. This addition follows the acquisition of Activision Blizzard, aiming to include all Xbox first-party games in the Game Pass library from day one. Spencer highlighted the integration work for Activision Blizzard titles, which includes bringing them to PC and console simultaneously. Diablo 4 is the first game from the acquisition joining Game Pass, with its arrival slated for March 28, 2024.

On another front, reliable leakers have pinpointed June 9 as the date for Xbox's annual showcase. It's anticipated that Microsoft will announce Call of Duty for Game Pass then, alongside older titles from the franchise. This move is part of Microsoft's broader strategy to enrich the Game Pass catalog, offering over twenty games from the iconic series to subscribers.

Microsoft's embrace of digital distribution does not signify a departure from physical games, as Spencer assures. The strategy is customer-driven, with a majority preferring digital purchases, yet physical media remains supported. This balanced approach caters to all types of gamers, ensuring access to Microsoft's expansive game library, whether through digital downloads or physical copies.

The addition of Call of Duty to Xbox Game Pass marks a significant milestone, potentially reshaping how fans access and play their favorite games from the franchise. As Xbox Game Pass continues to grow, gamers eagerly await the official announcement and the arrival of these beloved titles to the service.
