Best Waylay Lineups On Lotus

VALORANT’s newest agents happens to be a duelist, and a very unique one when it comes to kit and abilities. Waylay, has an unseen combination of abilities that can unlock various playstyles whether it be passive, aggressive, or a mix of both.
This guide will specifically show you lineups for Waylay’s Saturate Ability, as it acts similar to Phoenix mollies which can lead to very useful lineups that can help you step up your duels. So let’s dig in the best Waylay Lineups on Lotus:
Lineups
A Site - Attack
This lineup will serve you best as a post plant lineup. However, it can work in a site execute, but if you’re playing from main and the spike got tapped, you can use this lineup before peeking.
Come on top of the boxes towards breakable (you will be smoked off most likely, so you have cover) and then do a jumping throw. You can aim more to the left or right depending on which side of the box the spike is planted.
A Site - Defense
This lineup is going to help you clear the location shown in the picture, you can use it to push or trap someone who is trying to take orb. Also to fight a lurker if you’re rotating to B.
Come anywhere on A main (defender) and aim your crosshair around the middle of the leaves. Then, do a jumping throw.
B Site - Defense
For B site, this is a very nice retake lineup that will hit anyone playing under or middle site. It is also very quick and unexpected.
Come over to A link and aim through this hole on the wall, then do a normal throw.
C Site - Attack
Over to C, this isn’t much of a lineup but it is in fact all you need to do to take site quickly. Easy, quick, and effective.
Come anywhere on C main and aim on top of the wooden boxes and throw your saturate orb. You can do it even while walking or jumping if you like to.
C Site - Defense
C site is not exactly the easiest to keep locked from enemies. So what can you do as a Waylay? Well, you can do this lineup to hinder attackers right on C main and maybe even push them.
All you have to do is come to Waterfall, aim your crosshair as shown in the picture, and then do a jumping throw. You can also move your aim to the left if you want it to hit Sand/Hill rather than C main.
Waylay’s Abilities
- Saturate: INSTANTLY throw a light cluster that explodes upon contact with the ground, HINDERING enemies with a movement and weapon slow.
- LIGHT SPEED: EQUIP and FIRE to dash forward twice.
ALT FIRE to dash once. Only the first dash can be sent upward.
- Retract: INSTANTLY create a beacon of light on the floor. REACTIVATE to speed back to it, with invulnerability.
- CONVERGENT PATHS: EQUIP and FIRE to project a beam of light that expands. After a brief delay, you gain a powerful speed boost and the beam expands, HINDERING other players in the area.
Waylay Pro Tips
- Waylay’s abilities can also affect teammates, this includes Saturate and her ultimate. So when you use it make sure it is not going to impact your team negatively, otherwise it might lead to some angry teammates
- Only Waylay’s first dash can go upwards, this means that you either use both dashes forward (can be in any direction you aim at) or use the first one to go up like a Jett’s updraft + dash combo
- You can opt to use 1 dash if you need by pressing right click instead of left click. This can be useful if you are looking to a certain distance
- Waylay is still new, meaning that her playstyle is yet to be shaped, don’t be limited to a specific style (aggressive or passive) find what you can perform with best
- Waylay’s ultimate takes a few seconds to activate, so keep in mind that it is easy to dodge if the area was not narrow or if enemies were not stunned
- To get the habit of using her “Saturate” ability quickly and without any struggle, we recommend assigning that ability key to a mouse button as it is easier to access and use in gun fights / duels
- While your Retract ability can help you escape gun fights without taking damage, keep in mind players can still headshot you or kill you before if you don’t do it quickly enough, do not take it for granted
