Overwatch 2 Winter Wonderland Event: Dates, Skins, Modes

Blizzard Entertaiment continues to carry out Christmas events in Overwatch. The first Winter Wonderland event has already arrived in Overwatch 2, so Let's take a look at it.

Overwatch 2 Winter Wonderland 2022 Event Dates

This year, Winter Wonderland will take place from Tuesday, December 13, to Wednesday, January 4, 2023. Players have three whole weeks to enjoy the holiday atmosphere in their favorite game and earn cool and unique rewards for doing so.

Winter Wonderland 2022 Skins & Cosmetics

The only skin you can get during Winter Wonderland is the Ice Queen Brigitte. To do this, you need to complete six of the following eight challenges.

Unthawed

• Win a game in Freezethaw Elimination
• Reward: 1500 Battle Pass XP

Warmhearted

• Thaw 15 allies in Freezethaw Elimination
• Reward: 1500 Battle Pass XP, Kiriko spray

Snowstorm

• Win a game in Snowball Deathmatch
• Reward: 1500 Battle Pass XP

Caught a Cold

• Catch 6 snowballs in Snowball Deathmatch
• Reward: 1500 Battle Pass XP, Junker Queen spray

Monster Hunter

• Win a game in Yeti Hunter as Mei
• Reward: 1500 Battle Pass XP

Abominable

• Win a game in Yeti Hunter as a Yeti
• Reward: 1500 Battle Pass XP, Ramattra spray

Time for Cocoa

• Win a game in Mei’s Snowball Offensive
• Reward: 1500 Battle Pass XP

Block of Ice

• Block 8 snowballs with Cryo-Freeze or Ice Wall in Snowball Deathmatch or Mei’s Snowball Offensive.
• Reward: 1500 Battle Pass XP, Sojourn spray

Winter Wonderland 2022 Game Modes

This year, Overwatch 2 fans can enjoy three different modes during Winter Wonderland, two of which have already appeared in the game, and one new one.

The first one is Mei’s Snowball Offensive. Only now, Mei isn't spraying out a stream of frost or charging up for an icicle hit. She shoots snowballs for instant knockouts. This mode can be played in either 6v6 style or in a FFA setting.

The second is Mei’s Yeti Hunt, the 5v1 "raid boss" mode. Five heroes are fighting against overpowered Winston. There are no changes to freshen this mode up in 2022.

The new one is a game mode in Freezethat Elimination. Your goal is to freeze all opponents in this mode. They'll be frozen in place indefinitely after elimination by you.

Winter Wonderland 2022 Twitch drops

As before, you can get free, exclusive skins for watching the Winter Wonderland event on Twitch. Watch your favorite Overwatch 2 streamers from December 25 to January 4, and earn the following rewards:

• Watch 2 hours: Unlock Festive D.Va Victory Pose.
• Watch 4 hours: Unlock Sleighing D.Va Legendary Skin.
