The Best Sova Lineups On Icebox
Sova is a versatile initiator agent in Valorant, equipped with a powerful set of abilities that can gather information and control the battlefield. One of Sova's key strengths lies in his ability to set up precise lineups, which are pre-determined locations where his abilities will land. These lineups can be used to clear out areas, gather information, and even secure kills.
There are many different Sova lineups that can be used on various maps in Valorant, each with its own specific purpose and application. Today we will demonstrate the best Sova lineups for each key location on the map Icebox that will enable you to utilize Sova’s kit to the maximum of its ability and ensure the highest chances of winning.
These lineups will cover all the important aspects such as attacking, defending, and even retaking. Whether you’re a veteran player or just starting out on the agent, this guide will be a step up and great help for your gameplay on sova while playing Icebox.
Sova Lineups - Attacking Side
While initiators are often associated with duelists, they play in a completely different way and adapt various possibilities than what a duelist player would. Sova is classified as an information initiator, unlike the flasher initiators who are more focused to find ways to flash for their duelist’s entry, you as a sova try to find the gaps in the enemy team and gather information that your team can use to open and execute sites a lot more effectively. Here’s how you can utilize Sova's lineups on attack:
A Site:
On A site, the closer area (close left and right) present the most danger to your teammates and you while trying to execute the site. This is why we found a lineup that will clear up closer corners in an unusual spot, and is pretty easy to do! This dart will reveal anyone who’s playing close even if they’re on top of pipes. It won’t reveal anyone in back site or hiding behind cover.
To do this dart, simply come to the right corner on A main just by the barrier and try to aim the bottom left edge of your charge bar with that corner of nest just as shown in the picture.
After that, shoot a one bounce full charged dart.
Mid:
Mid is crucial especially for a map like Icebox. Maintaining information of mid is not enough, you also need to maintain control and pressure which is what you can do with this lineup that will reveal everyone playing on boiler or under. It won’t reveal anyone in tube so beware of that area.
Get to mid right where these boxes are on the right of attacker spawn and take this position. Then find this LED bar and aim towards the half but just a bit upwards of that.
Then, shoot a full charged one bounce dart.
B Site:
Into B site, which is the hardest site to execute as an attacker on Icebox. Hitting B site requires a set amount of utility to actually open up the space and sova is no less. With this you will aim to hit a dart on the huge pillar site where you will reveal anyone playing backsite, top site, danger or default. It won’t reveal anyone taking cover or on snow man.
This lineup is pretty straightforward, look at this huge crane on B site and try to shoot the dart right at it from top site of B long.
The dart should be fully charged.
Sova Lineups - Defending Side
It might not seem inevitably clear how important an initiator like Sova is on defense, but the reality is you play a key part in winning even defensive sides. Utilizing Sova’s ability kit to gather as much information as you can on the attacking team’s positioning and moves can be the game changer and lead to victory. Here are the best lineups to defend and gather early information with Sova:
A Site:
Defending a site is all about gathering early information. On A, the common spot for darting would be on the wall behind belt. However, everybody knows about this dart and it will get destroyed almost immediately. For that, we have a lineup that will definitely catch your enemies off guard. It will reveal everyone on A min and even some on CT towards A. It won’t reveal enemies who progressed into A.
Come into this corner on Generator, and find that line right on top where attackers come out from when pushing A. Aim towards nest but with a lean to the right,
And then shoot a double bounced fully charged arrow.
Mid:
As mentioned previously, maintaining pressure and information of the middle area on icebox is important. Here’s how to do that on defense, revealing everyone on mid with just a click.
Come to any corner you’d like to sit on boiler, preferable close up right and just find line of sight with the huge boxes as in the picture. Shoot a full charged dart.
B Site:
As a Sova, you should normally be playing on A or Mid because that’s where you utility shines most. For that, we found a lineup from Mid that will allow to reveal the entirety of B long. It’s almost unbreakable and only players hiding or outside of B long wouldn’t get detected by it.
First, come to mid and line yourself just as shown in the picture with the barrel. Place your crosshair there and try to pixel perfect yourself.
Then look up, and match your left diamond (bounce icons) with that as shown in the picture.
Then, do a double-charged arrow.
Sova Lineups - Retakes
Retaking is a part of playing defense, but it reverses the roles as after you’ve lost site it’s almost like you’re attacking to open site again. With that, you need proper lineups and knowledge to corner attackers and ensure your team gets the lead when it comes to positions and info. Here are the best retaking lineups for Sova:
A Site:
When retaking A, you want to cover as many post plant spots as possible. This dart will reveal everyone playing on Maze, Gen, pipes or possibly default. It won’t reveal anyone back in A main or belt.
Very simply come to this spot on Screens and full charge a dart into the wall as long as you have line of sight to it.
Full charge arrow for it to travel faster.
B Site:
Retaking B is often a trouble because rotating to that site might take a bit of time. That’s why we found a lineup that you can use as you’re rotating. It will land high on B site and reveal everyone playing behind yellow and on B long. It won’t reveal anyone taking cover or who’s progressed into site.
Come here over to this corner where the little hut is and take position
Then try to align your second charge bar with that corner just as referenced in the picture;
Shoot a one charge dart.
