Hytale Early Access Launch Secures Two Years of Funding

Games that face long development struggles do not always make it to release, but Hytale is beating the odds. Despite years of setbacks and major changes behind the scenes, the team stayed committed and pushed forward.
After losing publishing support from Riot Games, the developers did not walk away from the project. Instead, work continued, and that effort is now paying off.
Early Access Launch Is Finally Here
The Early Access version of Hytale launches today. Fans have been able to show support since early December through pre-purchases, and that support has been stronger than expected.
According to an update shared on social media, the response has been so positive that development funding is now locked in for the next two years.
Funding Secured Through Community Support
Simon Collins-Laflamme, founder of Hypixel, confirmed that pre-purchases alone have covered the next phase of development. This funding is combined with a long-term personal commitment, putting the project in a stable position moving forward.
The message made it clear that the studio feels confident about the future and the ability to keep building the game over the coming years.
A Larger Team Than Many Expect
One concern for long Early Access projects is team size and capacity. In this case, Hypixel is not a small studio. The development team currently includes more than 50 people working on the game.
That scale gives the project more room to grow, improve, and respond to player feedback during Early Access.
The Road Ahead
The next challenge will be keeping players engaged and maintaining momentum throughout the extended development period. For now, Hytale has crossed a huge hurdle by securing funding and reaching launch day.
Early Access is just the beginning, but the foundation looks solid as the game finally reaches players.
