Stakes increase with every match that takes longer to complete. While some games just seem lost from the start.

In this guide, we will be discussing how much time it will take you to complete a Valorant game. Along the way, we will also introduce you to Valorant game types.

How Long Is the Average Match?

Knowing how long an average match lasts in Valorant can be pretty helpful. You can determine whether you have enough time to play the next match with this knowledge.

With that in mind, we can talk about game lengths. There is so much to discuss here. Several factors determine how long you are going to play.

A player’s skills and understanding of the game mostly determine how long they play. It ends faster if you get a weaker opponent.

Without any AFK players or a reason for stalling, a standard game in Valorant takes 30 to 40 minutes.

The game can go beyond this time where every round is a thriller and extends to the last second. On the other hand, one-sided games can be over in less than 25 minutes.

As you climb the Valorant rank ladder, you will realize that some matches end faster, while others are considerably longer.

Competitions get tougher with every rank. Hence, some games will be very close. For this reason, most competitive matches with high skilled players last the longest, although you will never lack outliers.

Your game mode choice also determines how long you will play. Spike Rush is the quickest version of a standard game. It lasts for about 12 to 15 minutes

Another quick game mode is Deathmatch. This is an excellent option in time for a fast match before you close your day.

In a nutshell, it’s not easy to determine a certain length of any Valorant mode. Even though an average game in the standard mode takes 30 to 40 minutes. You don’t want to leave a game early because it puts your team in a bad state. You can also be penalized.

Each Valorant game type has an average time it will take to conclude. Here is what you should expect:

⦁    Plant/Defuse: You can play as an Attacker or a Defender in this mode. The goal is to prevent the Attacker from planting the spike. You play the modes in rounds with just a single life. Players must wait for the next round when they die or use Sage’s Resurrection.

⦁   Competitive: This type is a higher-stakes variant where players compete for rank. A game moves to overtime if it ends in 12-12. It lasts 30 to 40 minutes.

⦁   Replication: All players in a team play as one agent. It takes 10 to 15 minutes, delivering the same XP as the Unrated.

⦁   Spike Rush: This is a 5v5 Bo7 mode where every player has the same weapon at the beginning. You may enhance within 8 to 12 minutes of the game.

⦁   Unrated: After 12 rounds of attacking and defending in Plant/Defuse, teams switch sides for 12 more rounds, lasting 30 to 40 minutes.

⦁   Deathmatch: The goal in this game is to kill adversaries. It ends after 9 minutes or when a player achieves 40 kills.

⦁   Escalation: This is a 5v5 deathmatch that takes 7 to 9 minutes. Players rush to kill their opponents using assorted weapons.

What Are Some of the Factors That Explain the Average Match Length in the Most Played Mode?

Competitive is the most played version of the Valorant game. Several factors determine how long the game will take. They include:

⦁   Games required to unlock the ranked mode: A player must reach level 20 to unlock the competitive game mode.

⦁   Placement matches: A player must complete five competitive matches in the Competitive mode. Your performance and skills determine how fast you can rank.

⦁   Match Making Rating (MMR): Each player gets a number based on their in-game capability, adjusting with time.

⦁   Inactivity: Valorant does not have rank decay. However, a player will need to complete a placement match if they have been inactive for a long time. This extends the period it will take to finish the Competitive mode.

Above all, your skills will mostly affect the speed of the game. You end matches much faster when you have a stronger team and a weaker opponent.
