Setups - Attack
The attacking side is rather needy when it comes to you as a Harbor player or controller in general. How important Mid control is on this map, many angles to look out for and cover and so much more to take into account before you initiate a good execute. Here are the best Harbor smokes & setups for attacking on Haven.
A Plant
There are many ways to execute A site on Haven. One of the key things to look out for is how to use the combination of your utility as a harbor. You have a cascade wall that is efficient and useful for pushes, a tide wall that is very versatile and long, and finally the shield orb that protects you from bullets and looks like an amazing cover for any spike planter.
For this set up, use your cascade to clear short for your teammates ending up with an additional smoke at CT, then use your high tide wall to cover heaven & CT. Whenever you’re planting the spike you can place the shield orb there
B Full
If you want to execute B site and absolutely nail it, and that is by taking full control of it use this set up shown in the picture.
A tide wall going all the way covering C link and making a circle towards A link. Combined with the Cascade wall taking off into C link and finally the planting shield orb that is a must for planting safely.
C Fast
This is an amazing execute to fast take C site. Especially with Harbor, pushing C on Haven might be actually a lot easier than with any other smoker.
Place your tide wall all the way covering Garage & CT just like so. Place your cascade wall on the left side from C cubby and have it clear all the way until back site. Then, place your shield orb next to the boxes on default to create space & cover for anyone who’s going to plant.
C Split
Splitting means taking an approach to multiple chokepoints so you can more efficiently secure site. In this case, for C, we mean taking Garage. And here’s how you should do that:
Use your cascade wall to clear garage and have it end on Window for an extra smoke to use for garage players. Then, use your tide after you’ve cleared Garage to cover CT on C site.
After that, go into the site and place your shield orb to plant.
Setups - Defense
Harbor is relatively still a new agent, we haven’t seen him in pro matches or even in ranked as often as we have expected. This is both positive and negative, obviously, we don’t want agents that are useless but that also makes him very unique and untraditional to deal with.
Here are some smokes & setups that will spice up your games (especially on the defensive side) with harbor:
A Aggressive
Defending A isn’t the hardest but it can get challenging sometimes. There’s an extremely efficient way of actually taking up space on A and even attackers won’t be able to deny it, place your tide wall to cover A lobby followed up with a previous Cascade wall that clears anyone pushing.
It’s best to have a teammate with you from short to trade or punish any attackers trying to skip through your utility.
A Passive
If you’re looking for a more passive way of holding A down, here’s how. It might be confusing for you as a harbor to place your smokes but this is how you can do it:
Throw your tide wall from site to the outside of the map and curve it back to cover over A main and A short.
Mid Aggressive
There isn’t much that you would ask for in an aggressive eco push on mid. All you need to do is to cascade wall grass, depending on whether or not you’d like to fight mid window you can use your shield orb to smoke that.
Normally these aggressive mid control strats you only do if you’re playing an Eco round and there wouldn’t be much risks taken.
C Deep
One of the better ways to defend C site is to smoke deep and play for more control towards C long.
You can do that by placing a cascade wall right as the round starts and then use your tide wall to cover both C long (deep) and grass on mid. This will force attackers to either gave that portion of the map to you or use utility to be able to retake it, either ways, it’s a win win situation.
C Default
This is the traditional set up for defending C site. Use your tide to smoke both C long and Garage and make sure you have players watching out for any flashes and pushes through the smokes.
