Valorant Players Upset At This Change
Riot Games has introduced a new type of cosmetic in Valorant, but it hasn’t landed well with the community. Many players are labeling the feature “useless” and accusing Riot of prioritizing profits over meaningful content.
With the release of the 10.00 patch, Valorant introduced several updates, including the new Agent Tejo and a fresh addition to cosmetics called FLEX.
What Is FLEX?
FLEX is a new type of cosmetic that players can equip on their Spray Wheel. It allows them to display and interact with animated objects during matches.
However, the animations are only visible to the player using the item—other players can’t see them in third-person.
Additionally, FLEX items don’t affect gameplay or provide any functional benefits, making them purely visual.
Player Backlash
Since the announcement, many players have voiced their frustrations, comparing FLEX to Overwatch's Souvenirs but calling Valorant's version less creative.
The community did not receive it well, especially because this opens up space for higher prices in future bundles.
The newest Helix bundle, includes a Flex cosmetic. This is sure to add onto the overall price of the bundle, which does upset a lot of the fanbase.
