Agent Waylay: Abilities & Everything we know

Riot Games has introduced Waylay as Valorant’s newest agent, Agent 28, and shared more details about their abilities. Here’s what we know so far.
When Valorant launched in 2020, there were only 10 agents to choose from. Over the years, that number has grown significantly, with 27 agents now available.
The latest addition was Tejo, an Initiator who quickly became a key part of the game’s meta, mainly due to his powerful Guided Salvo ability and Armageddon ultimate.
Waylay: The New Duelist Agent
On March 2, Riot unveiled Waylay in a full showcase trailer during the Masters Bangkok tournament. The trailer confirmed that Waylay is a Duelist and will be part of the next major update.
Riot also announced that Waylay will be available in all VCT Leagues for Stage 1, which kicks off on March 13, 2025.
Waylay’s Release Date
Waylay will officially join Valorant on March 5, 2025, as part of the Valorant Season 2025: Act 2 update. The exact release time will vary depending on your region and timezone, but Riot has yet to provide specific details.
Waylay’s Abilities
Riot has revealed four abilities for Waylay:
- Refract – Creates a beacon of light on the floor. Reactivate to teleport back to it with temporary invulnerability.
- Light Speed – Dash forward twice with the main fire button. Using alt-fire allows a single dash, with only the first dash able to go upward.
- Saturate – Throws a cluster of light that explodes on impact, slowing enemy movement and weapon use.
- Convergent Paths (Ultimate) – Fires an expanding beam of light. After a short delay, you gain a speed boost, and the beam further expands, slowing enemies caught in it.
