Steam Game Awards 2025 winners revealed
The Steam Game Awards have officially concluded, revealing the fan-voted winners across Game of the Year, Best Soundtrack, and several other categories.
Unlike traditional industry awards, the Steam Game Awards are decided entirely by players, with millions of users voting for their favorite games directly through Steam.
With the results now locked in, 2025’s winners reflect community favorites rather than critic consensus, and while Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 earned recognition, it didn’t dominate the awards this time around.
Game of the Year goes to Hollow Knight: Silksong
Hollow Knight: Silksong was crowned Steam’s Game of the Year, beating out strong competition from Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, ARC Raiders, Dispatch, and Kingdom Come: Deliverance II. Steam describes the award as recognizing an “instant classic,” whether through gameplay, story, design, or multiplayer appeal.
Silksong also picked up another major win later in the show, reinforcing its status as one of the most celebrated releases of the year.
Major category winners across Steam
The VR Game of the Year award went to The Midnight Walk, which was recognized for pushing the boundaries of virtual reality beyond traditional gameplay experiences.
Baldur’s Gate 3 took home the Labor of Love Award, honoring Larian Studios’ continued post-launch support and long-term content updates, years after release.
For players on the go, Hades 2 won Best Game on Steam Deck, praised for delivering a smooth and engaging experience on Valve’s handheld system.
Multiplayer, visuals, and innovation highlights
Peak won the Better With Friends Award, celebrating games that shine brightest when played with others.
Silent Hill f earned Outstanding Visual Style for its distinct aesthetic and atmosphere, while ARC Raiders claimed the Most Innovative Gameplay Award for its fresh design ideas and experimental mechanics.
Hollow Knight: Silksong also secured Best Game You Suck At, recognizing its challenging gameplay that rewards persistence.
Story, music, and relaxation awards
Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 won Best Soundtrack, with its musical score standing out among nominees like Deltarune and Spider-Man 2.
Dispatch earned the Outstanding Story-Rich Game Award for its narrative depth and emotional impact.
Rounding things out, RV There Yet? received the Sit Back and Relax Award, highlighting games designed for calm, stress-free play.
