In the first series of the day European squad Acend, faced off the vice-champions of Masters Berlin Team Envy, with the North American side coming in as the slight favorites.

Despite the map veto, which saw Envy picking Ascent, Acend picking Bind and Split to be the decider, favoring the European team most analysts and caster still thought Envy was going to take the series.

In the first map Acend started really strong, not only Cned was playing well but all the team had shown up and elevated their level compared to the series against Keyd, with good defensive setups and important clutches and retakes going their way, Acend went into half-time with a comfortable 8-4 lead.

The second half saw Acend continuing their momentum and win the pistol and eco rounds, Envy still tried to come back and reduced the lead to 10-7, but Acend took the first map 13-8 and went into Bind, a map where they have a 21-1 record, in a great position to close out the series.

In Bind, Acend proved in their first half why they are considered the best team in the world on this map, with an amazing attacking side, composed of great executions, and good mid-round calls, Acend went into halftime with a 9-3 lead and one foot in the playoffs.

However, Envy didn't give up and made a valiant attempt to come back, they were able to tie the game at 10-10, despite that their efforts would prove to be in vain as Ascend was able to close out the map with a 13-11 win, and made it four out of four teams form the EMEA region to make it out of the group stage with all of them topping their group.
