Gekko Molly Lineups

Gekko’s Molly is unique as opposed to other abilities of a similar kind in the game. It is not for instant damage, but more for area control. Anyone staying in the molly will instantly die rewarding you with the kill. However, it doesn’t deal damage to anyone staying in it until a certain period of time passes. What you get in return is the amount of space it covers, making it perfect for timed lineups and here you will find our best collected ones yet:

A Default

What Does It Cover: This lineup will land directly on Generator which is the default planting spot on A site. As it lands, it will cover a big chunk of the site from that spot giving you an advantage if you swing.

When To Use It: Best used in a post-plant scenario when enemies try to retake site and defuse the spike.

What Makes It Special: This lineup is good for delaying spike defuses and it helps you swing out to take a fight as it covers a large area.

To do it, come over to this corner, aim at that cloud and just a little bit to its left, then simply throw your molly.

A Default 2

What Does It Cover: The very next lineup will hit the second default planting spot on A site, instead of Generator it will be exactly on dice or green boxes.

When To Use It: Best used as a post plant scenario but make sure you are using this lineup only when the spike is actually planted there.

What Makes It Special: What makes this lineup stand out is the fact that you can do it safely from A main, the same position as the last one all you need to do is adjust your crosshair.

Do you see the shreds in the sky? These black lightning-like shape, aim right at the edge of it and then throw your molly.

A Default Lurk

What Does It Cover: This lineup will hit the default planting spot on Generator with the difference of position where you can perform it from A Short, Mid.

When To Use It: If you ever find yourself in a lurking position this will be the perfect lineup to use as you wrap around.

What Makes It Special: You can hit 2 birds with 1 stone as you wrap around to surprise enemies and throw your lineup from A short while doing so.

To do it, come and line up your second ability (the lil bro) icon with that little brick / stone on the wall. Then, throw your molly.

B Default

What Does It Cover: This lineup will hit the default planting spot on B site, right behind the dice/green box on site.

When To Use It: Best used as a post plant scenario, especially when playing from B main to maintain control of those enemies trying to retake.

What Makes It Special: You can play B main and get free backstabbing kills while still having a lineup to get anyone off the spike.

Come over to the corner of B site, walk up to the front until you have line of sight to this exact spot, and then RUN + throw your molly.

B Default 2

What Does It Cover: Hitting the same exact spot as the previous lineup, this molly will hit the default planting spot.

When To Use It: Best used as a post plant scenario but this time it will be from B lobby so that you can use it when you want to play safer or when enemies do check / clear B main.

What Makes It Special: Although you are playing very safe you still get any enemy off the spike and possibly flank them on time to catch them off guard.

Simply come to B lobby and find this lightning spike on the sky, aim at the edge of it and throw your molly.

Pro Tips

  • Keep in mind that Gekko’s Molly works quite differently. It has a cooldown before it explodes killing anyone standing inside its radius, but it will not deal any damage until that timer has run out.

  • Players can still dodge the molly by running out of it. This is because the molly’s damage comes fast but not in one instant making it possible for some to jump out of it at the right moment. That will still deal some damage though.

  • Since your Molly takes time to activate, this could allow enemies to defuse the spike up to the half depending on the timing and usage of it. Keep that in mind going in any match and using your lineups.

  • Always remember to ask for accompanying utility from your teammates as it can be a tremendous help for your own set of plays with Gekko. Especially in post-plant scenarios.

  • Gekko’s Molly is the only piece of utility that you will be able to pick back up after using. So be precise and ensure that you only use it when you can capitalize on it.

  • In case you use your Molly to clear an angle, do not look away from it just as you throw your ability. You will have to hold the corner for a bit more to ensure that nobody is there as if you catch enemies they will come out swinging and you want to be ready for that.

  • Aside from teammate utility, you can always use Dizzy (Flash Ability) in pair with your Molly lineup. While enemies might stick to the defuse even if the molly hits them, they will definitely get off when fully flashed as they will be scared of you peeking or pushing toward them. In addition, it reveals their position which tells you if they are defusing or not.
