How to block players in Valorant

Valorant’s 9.06 patch finally introduced a feature players have been asking for blocking. If you’ve ever run into someone toxic in a match, you probably know how frustrating it is when you can’t fully avoid them.
Before this update, your only option was to mute them during the match, but now you can block them completely. Here’s a quick guide on how blocking works and how you can do it.
What Happens When You Block Someone in Valorant?
Blocking a player stops them from sending you text messages, talking to you in voice chat, or sending friend requests and party invites.
Basically, once they’re blocked, there’s no way for them to contact you in the game unless you decide to unblock them later.
There’s also no limit to how many players you can block, so you can block as many as you need.
How to Block a Player in Valorant
Blocking someone is pretty simple. Just follow these steps:
-
Go to Your Career Tab: From the main menu, head to the "Career" section to see your recent games.
-
Find the Match: Look for the game where the player you want to block was in.
-
Open the Scoreboard: Once you open the match, go to the scoreboard to see the list of players.
-
Right-Click Their Name: Find the player, right-click on their name, and select the ‘Block’ option.
-
Confirm: A pop-up will ask if you’re sure. Just click confirm, and that’s it—they’re blocked.
Can You Avoid Playing with Blocked Players?
Sadly, blocking someone doesn’t mean you’ll never end up in the same game as them again. Valorant doesn’t have a system that prevents blocked players from being in your lobby or even on your team.
If you’re dealing with someone targeting you or stream-sniping, blocking is the only option for now, but it only stops communication, not matchmaking.
