How To Change Language In Valorant

Playing VALORANT in a language you’re more comfortable with can make things a lot easier, especially when navigating menus or understanding in-game messages.

Thankfully, changing the language is simple and can be done either from inside the game or through the Riot client before launching.

Here’s a full guide to help you adjust your language settings the right way.

Changing the Language In-Game

Already logged in and waiting in the main menu? You can quickly change your language without leaving the game:

1. Click the VALORANT logo in the top left corner of the screen. This opens up the main menu.

2. Select Settings from the list of options.

3. Make sure you’re in the General tab.

4. At the very top, you’ll see Text Language.

5. Click the dropdown menu and choose the language you want to use in-game.

After making your selection, you need to completely close both the game and the Riot client. If you skip this step, the language settings won't update properly. Once everything is shut down, restart the client and launch the game again. Your new language settings should now be active.

Changing the Language from the Riot Client

If you’d prefer to switch languages before opening the game, you can do that directly from the Riot client. This can be helpful if you’re setting things up for the first time or troubleshooting in a different language.

1. Launch the Riot Client, but don’t sign in just yet.

2. On the bottom right of the sign-in screen, click the Settings icon (the small gear).

3. Look for the Game Language section.

4. Use the dropdown menu to pick the language you want to use.

5. Once selected, close the client completely and restart it.

The next time you log in and launch VALORANT, it will load in your chosen language.
