All The Details About Overwatch 2 Junkenstein’s Revenge Event: Release Date, Skins and More!
The spooky season is upon us, and Halloween preparations are in full swing. Overwatch fans are also gearing up for another spectacular Halloween event this year. Overwatch releases a limited-time event called Junkenstein's Revenge every year; this year is no different.
Overwatch 2 went live at the beginning of October, and just after a few weeks, it will receive its first in-game special event. Junkenstein's Revenge: Wrath of the Bride is a special Halloween event that will get you in the mood for Halloween.
This upcoming event was teased in a recent Overwatch blog post. This blog post showcased Overwatch 2's season one battle pass and some information regarding Junkenstein's Revenge event.
So today, we will discuss all the details of Overwatch 2 Junkenstein's Revenge event. This update will include many new cosmetics and a new PvE game mode for players to enjoy. We will go through all these updates in detail.
What is Junkenstein's Revenge?
Junkenstein's Revenge: Wrath of the Bride is an upcoming Halloween-themed event for Overwatch 2. This next event will be familiar to fans of the original Overwatch, with a few tweaks to keep things fresh for returning players and thrilling for new ones.
In the original Overwatch, Junkenstein's Revenge was a Halloween-exclusive game mode that allowed a team of 4 players to engage in PVE combat against hordes of zombies. Junkrat was the main antagonist in the original Junkenstein's Revenge, but Sombra will be a new antagonist in Wrath of the Bride.
This mode will help Blizzard to build more hype around Overwatch. This is because Overwatch 2's PvE mode will not release till 2023, but this mode will allow players to enjoy PvE. Hence, it'll serve as a teaser for what they have in store for PvE mode.
Junkenstein's Revenge Release Date
Junkenstein's Revenge: Wrath of The Bride is set to release on 25th October. Even though Halloween festivities end on 31st October, Blizzard will not remove the game mode until 8th November 2022.
This should give all Overwatch 2 players enough time to enjoy Junkenstein's Revenge event alongside the new game modes.
Playable Characters and Skins in Junkenstein's Revenge: Wrath of the Bride
Just like some previous Overwatch Halloween events, there will be a fixed roster of characters for Junkenstein's Revenge: Wrath of the Bride. Ashe, Sojourn, Junker Queen, and Kiriko are the four playable characters in Junkenstein's Revenge: Wrath of the Bride's core lineup.
All of these characters will get Halloween-themed skins in this event too. The skins have been revealed through various posts on Twitter. Sojourn's new skin looks like a noir detective style, while Junker Queen's skin has a Mad Max-type look, and Kiriko is dressed in a witch skin.
So far, only Sojourn, Junker Queen, and Kiriko are confirmed to receive new skins. We might see more cosmetic items when the event is officially added to the game.
On a side note, Overwatch is giving away a free Reaper skin to compensate for their "bumpy launch." To claim The Cursed Captain Reaper skin, you must log into Overwatch 2 before 25th October.
Conclusion
So this was everything you need to know about Overwatch 2 Junkenstein's Revenge event. We are really excited to see what this event has in store for us.
