Setups - Attack
The attacking side on Lotus is quite rewarding as you have many ways and approaches to each site, you just need to figure out a good approach to the defenders. You might often find yourself overwhelmed with the tight spaces and many hiding corners for defenders which can get to be a nightmare if you are failing to open up sites.
Since Harbor is still considered a new agent, let’s have a quick explanation of his kit that will help you further when you’re looking at these setups
High Tide ability is essentially a very versatile wall that can be adjusted to a decent level to match any area you’re trying to cover. It is also, very long which will do good cover on almost any map.
Cove (Shield Orb) ability is one of a kind, once placed you will be able to have a shielded smoke on that area that blocks bullets until it’s broken.
Cascade Wall also acts as a temporary smoke once it is stopped and as a good mechanic to push as you launch it and it goes forward until it stops but it doesn’t drop down immediately giving you a temporary smoke.
A Full Cover
Here at Esports Driven we believe that Harbor is a perfect fit for the map Lotus, possibly the next meta on this map will be guided by him.
Take a look at this set up attacking A side, covering everything with his versatile wall.
Start by getting up close and throwing a Cascade through to cover anyone trying to peek to catch you off guard then proceed to use your high tide wall to match the picture above. Then after you have secured site, use your cove to gain cover while planting.
B Plant
Sometimes going for a full push is not the optimal solution. In this example of pushing B site, you will need to prepare for a post plant position or late lurk / flank.
Start by throwing your Cascade straight into C link to avoid having anyone peeking from that spot, right after place your tide and curve it to cover all openings that defenders may have access to.
Then use your cove to secure your planting spot!
C Plant
C is the most post plant capable site on the map Lotus. That’s why you need to utilize the strength and weakness of this fact, with this set up you will secure yourself at least a plant in site.
Start by throwing your Cascade right against waterfall where defenders might typically hide or for any rotations coming to site.
Place your tide to cover water fall and CT and then go ahead an plant in that spot using your Cove.
From there, you can play for the post plant positions on the hill at C main / lobby.
Setups- Defense
Lotus is still a new map and there are yet many ways to play this map. You can’t be good in one side and fail at another, VALORANT is momentum based and therefore you really need to excel in both attacking and defending, that’s why we will give you the best set ups that will ease the defensive side for you:
A Aggressive
If you are planning to aggress on A site, -which typically is best done with an agent that has a molly or a nade to throw right at the attackers- All you need to do is throw your Cascade to cover the right area of the long box and have a teammate set up onto an aggressive position on Tree. This way you can maintain map control and pressure on Attackers.
A Passive
If you are looking for a more typical way to hold down A site, here’s a perfect way to do so. Start by using your high tide to cover A long and Tree just like in the picture. Then prepare a cascade wall to activate upon push; once you hear them step through your smoke.
Pro Tip: On defense, you tend to use your Cove a lot less because of its retake potential. When you are retaking a site, you need to defuse the spike which the Cove ability can provide great cover for.
After that just wait and hold for enemies to step through your smoke and immediately throw your cascade wall and peek off it.
B Aggressive
B site is open right onto the Attacker’s spawn, and it is practically the middle of this map. Taking aggressive control of it might be challenging but is extremely rewarding.
Start with a Cascade wall through from the B site to set up a teammate for an early peek.
Then, use your high tide wall to isolate attacker’s spawn and the area you just took control of.
B Passive
If you’re looking for a rather simple and safe play on B site, just use your high tide to cover the area as shown. It is also viable to play this site for retake; as you may get overwhelmed very easily if there’s too much utility.
C Aggressive
C site is one of the few spots on the map where you can fight for control as a defender, however, that is hard without a proper way to do so.
Start by throwing a Cascade through the sand hill to block attackers from pushing you and then use your high tide to isolate the area and then you can fight with a teammate for that space.
C Passive
This is a more traditional way of holding C site, use your high tide and curve it to match the picture.
Possibly, you can use your cove to play next to the box and punish any attacker trying to pass through but make sure you have an extra teammate on site to trade you otherwise just leave the site and play for retake.
