VALORANT Omen Smokes on Haven - Best Smokes and Strategies
Omen stands an important position in the VALORANT agent pool being one of the most consistent picks across all maps.
Playing a controller agent is rather simple, but there are certain tips and setups that can elevate your gameplay to the next level. Following this Omen guide will turn you into a nightmare for any enemy you’re up against!
Setups - Attack
On Haven, attack is more complicated due to the number of sites you can execute. While typically you have an advantage because defenders will have less player advantage per site, it can still be quite difficult to get there. For that, you should master Omen by choosing the proper smokes and blinds that will guarantee you an entry into the site.
A Default
Attacking A is the most simple, smoke heaven and CT and blind short for your teammates or backsite. Now push and if you were at a player disadvantage, teleporting into your smoke in Heaven can be a risky but rewarding play.
B Post Plant
Attacking B is always complicated because it is fairly the hardest site to hold down if you’re not playing post plant. And this is exactly how you should smoke it if you’re playing to take full control of site, don’t over extend and make sure you always resmoke when any of those fade.
B Control
Another take on B site, is to play for a highly risk and reward play. Taking A link is the safest way you can play a round into B, if you successfully do that. Smoke for C link and ignore A link until you’re close up with a teammate then blind and push it. Make sure you punish any defenders on that side and then the rest of the round should be easy.
C Default
The traditional way to attack C is smoking both garage and CT then blinding the left side. You can switch that for a back site blind or in Garage if you deem that as more important.
C Split
If you are planning on executing a Split C site, which is when you split as attackers to push 2 different chokepoints so that you open up a site in a more proficient manner, make sure you smoke Garage window and CT for those of your teammates who are coming into site.
Setups - Defense
The defense side on Haven is usually easier, but that can vary. You have 3 sites to defend and rotation times as well as retakes can drive you insane. That’s why, you need to hold your site on lock down and with these Omen setups we try our best to help you get there.
A Deep
This is a very rewarding Smoke but it’s riskier since you’re playing for much more space on A site. You aim to take over A lobby with a teammate to ensure that they cannot walk up without getting punished.
This also grants you information about where they might be, if they don’t fight this back they’re likely going for an easier site which leaves you a step ahead of your enemies.
A Passive
If you don’t have a teammate to support your deep A control or would rather to play safer, this is the best way to do that. Smoke short and Long then wait for steps to blind and peek from back site. Easy!
Mid Passive
To defend B make sure you’re always accounting for the Mid area. And that means, Garage too. Enemies traditionally change their route to other openings when you close one, so if you smoke B and leave garage it might just get bombed with utility and pushed over. Most likely that can give away C site, but can also have them place pressure on you.
Mid Aggressive
And if you’re going crazy over your enemies, just push mid like so with a paranio and 2 smokes. This is best done on an Eco round to ensure if you lose there weren’t much risks to go with.
C Default
C site is easier to hold than other sites, but also harder to retake. Smoke Garage and C long like so and avoid peeking to not give away any entries to the site.
C Deep
If you want to play even safer, smoke deep on C long and possibly walk up to C cubby or just stay in site. This places so much more pressure on the attackers and will force them to use utility early on to go out of the smoke which in both ways is in your advantage.
