The international rollout of the Mega Evolution series continues to reshape the competitive Pokémon Trading Card Game landscape. Search traffic for pokemon delta reign and the complete delta reign card list has climbed 750% following official set reveals and prerelease tournament schedules.

Following the intense demand for high-tier psychic cards like Team Rocket's Mewtwo ex 231, Delta Reign stands as the sixth main expansion in the current competitive block, designated under set code DLR.

Here is the full breakdown of the expansion timetable, primary chase cards, and the new mechanics entering tournament formats.

Delta Reign Release Calendar and Set Scope

The expansion transitions the Japanese Storm Emeralda set into an international format:

  • Play! Pokémon Prerelease Tournaments: October 24 to November 1, 2026 (via local game store Build & Battle events).

  • Pokémon TCG Live Digital Launch: November 5, 2026.

  • Worldwide Store Release: November 6, 2026.

  • Set Composition: 103 main-set cards, expanded to more than 135 total cards when accounting for Secret Rares, Illustration Rares, and Special Illustration Rares (SIRs).

Cover Card: The Return of Mega Rayquaza ex

The undeniable centerpiece of Delta Reign is Mega Rayquaza ex, returning to the trading card game after an eleven-year absence from standard competitive formats.

  • Card Profile (084/103): Displayed as a Colorless-type powerhouse with a massive 280 HP pool.

  • High-Risk Mega Evolution Rules: Under current standard mechanics, knocking down a Mega Evolution awards your opponent three Prize cards instead of two.

  • Tactical Synergy: Mega Rayquaza ex is engineered around rapid board clearing, pairing with specialized energy-acceleration engines that punish opponents relying on crowded bench formations.

Beyond Rayquaza, the expansion features prominent Mega cards originally introduced in recent console DLC expansions, including Mega Golurk ex (047/103), Mega Malamar ex (069/103), and Mega Golisopod ex.

Legendary Stadium Connecting Card Pair Mechanic in Pokemon TCG Delta Reign

Brand-New Game Mechanic: Legendary Stadium Pairs

Delta Reign introduces a completely new card archetype: Connecting Legendary Stadiums.

Unlike conventional Stadium cards that consist of a single standalone card affecting the entire board, Legendary Stadiums are played as a matching two-card pair:

  1. Simultaneous Play Requirement: A player must hold both matching halves in hand (such as cards 096/103 and 097/103 for Legendary Summit) to play the Stadium into active battle.

  2. Unified Artwork: When placed side by side in the center of the playing mat, the two cards connect physically to form a single continuous panoramic art piece.

  3. High-Impact Game Rule Alterations: Because assembling two specific cards requires higher setup effort, the passive effects are game-altering. For example, Legendary Summit reduces the Prize penalty of your active Colorless Mega Evolution from three down to two when knocked out, completely neutralizing the primary tactical drawback of fielding Mega Rayquaza ex.

Product Configurations at Launch

When Delta Reign lands on store shelves on November 6, players can choose between several product configurations:

  • Booster Boxes: 36 standard 10-card booster packs, offering the highest statistical pull density for building master sets.

  • Elite Trainer Box (ETB): 9 Delta Reign booster packs, themed card sleeves, and an exclusive foil promo card featuring Kyogre.

  • Three-Pack Blister Sets: Bundles containing three booster packs alongside a promotional foil card featuring Seel.

  • Build & Battle Boxes: Prerelease kits containing a 40-card ready-to-play deck and four booster packs designed for sealed format tournaments.
