Setups - Attack
The attacking side on Fracture is quite challenging as you need to figure out a good approach to the defenders. You might often find yourself overwhelmed with the tight spaces and many hiding corners for defenders which can get to be a nightmare if you are failing to open up sites. Here’s how with Harbor you can make Split attacking side seem so easy:
A Full Execute
You have to understand the utility Harbor has before you get a good understanding of how you can approach any site on any map of the attacking side.
Your High Tide ability is essentially a very versatile wall that can be adjusted to a decent level to match any area you’re trying to cover. It is also, very long which will do good cover in almost any map.
Your Cove (Shield Orb) ability is one of a kind, once placed you will be able to have a shielded smoke on that area that blocks bullets until it’s broken.
Cascade Wall also acts as a temporary smoke once it is stopped and as a good mechanic to push as you launch it and it goes forward until it stops but it doesn’t drop down immediately giving you a temporary smoke.
So coming into how to execute A site can start by you using your Cascade wall into A Ramps to block any early peeks from the defenders. From there, you can peek out into A lobby to figure whether this is the site to execute or not. If you’re determined, all you need to do is use your high tide ability to cover Heaven and CT.
When you’re planting you should always place the Cove shielded orb on you to gain extra cover, however, if you have control of A site it’s rare that you need that cover, for that you can use it on elbow instead as a smoke.
B Default
This is the default set up of attacking B site. Use your high tide to smoke Heaven and CT. After that, use your cascade wall on the left side to ensure you score a kill on anybody there.
As always, as soon as you get into site make sure you place your Cove for extra cover when planting. Remember that usually you go for “bad planting spots” because you simply cannot afford to take extra fights to cover planting on dangerous areas.
With Harbor’s Cove, you can just place it and plant anywhere you want.
B Post Plant
If you’re looking to play out a post plant scenario here is the set up for you.
Place your Cascade towards back site (back of pillar) and then place your high tide wall as shown in the picture, completely splitting the site.
After that use your Cove to plant for B main.
Mid To A
One of the best ways to execute sites on Split is by taking control of middle and creating a pathway into site.
Here’s the best way to push A from Mid, first Cascade anyone on B heaven to give yourself cover and then from Vents place your wall like so, covering the entire area until A CT.
Then, use your Cove (Shielded Orb) to plant in this spot, which can be used as a post plant for A Heaven if you have anyone lurking late or wrapping around.
Mid To B
Here’s how you can effectively take B site from Mid.
Start by placing your Cascade wall to hit Vents and cover it, from there place your high tide wall to cover Stairs on B heaven and CT on B site.
Walk through and place your Cove to plant for B main.
Setups - Defense
Split is easier played on defense but that doesn’t necessarily mean it will always be on your side. If you don’t learn the best set ups to hold sites down you might find yourself in a situation where it’s impossible to deny enemies from taking space on you. And that’s why we will now show you the best set ups to force your enemies into backing off your site:
A Aggressive
Playing with a teammate from A site while on A ramps places great pressure on your enemies.
All you need to do is place your Cascade wall at the start of the round where it covers A main and blocks anybody from pushing through it without getting punished.
A Default
The most common set up for defending A site. Start by using your high tide to cover both Rafters and A main and then wait on elbow with your Cascade as soon as you hear enemies stepping through activate it and peek of it.
Pro Tip: On defense, you tend to use your Cove a lot less because of its retake potential. When you are retaking a site, you need to defuse the spike which the Cove ability can provide great cover for.
Mid Lock In
To defend Mid it’s very simple, use your Cascade wall which is already a ton of pressure placed. And if that’s not enough, then simply use your high tide to cover from Mid to B.
B Aggressive
If you are planning to aggressively hold B site all you need to do is place your Cascade just like so.
B Default
The default B site hold, use your high tide to cover B main and potentially Mid. After that hide in back site and use your cascade as soon as you hear enemies step out.
