Sova is a versatile initiator agent in Valorant, equipped with a powerful set of abilities that can gather information and control the battlefield. One of Sova's key strengths lies in his ability to set up precise lineups, which are pre-determined locations where his abilities will land. These lineups can be used to clear out areas, gather information, and even secure kills.

There are many different Sova lineups that can be used on various maps in Valorant, each with its own specific purpose and application. Today we will demonstrate the best Sova lineups for each key location on the map Ascent that will enable you to utilize Sova’s kit to the maximum of its ability and ensure the highest chances of winning.

These lineups will cover all the important aspects such as attacking, defending, and even retaking. Whether you’re a veteran player or just starting out on the agent, this guide will be a step up and great help for your gameplay on sova while playing Ascent.

Sova Lineups - Attacking Side

While initiators are often associated with duelists, they play in a completely different way and adapt various possibilities than what a duelist player would. Sova is classified as an information initiator, unlike the flasher initiators who are more focused to find ways to flash for their duelist’s entry, you as a sova try to find the gaps in the enemy team and gather information that your team can use to open and execute sites a lot more effectively. Here’s how you can utilize Sova's lineups on attack:

A Site:

If you’re attacking A site, this dart will effectively catch your enemies off guard. It will land on the right side of Heaven, specifically on the wooden box. There, it will reveal anyone playing Generator or backsite. It won’t reveal anyone who is playing close or in short.

To do it is very simple, stand next to the green box on A lobby and then try to find that antenna and make a line from it to the huge crack in the sky just as shown in the picture.

After that, do a one charge dart.

Mid:

Attacking Mid is one of the most important things as you need to maintain mid control in a map like ascent. This dart will land on the wall at Bottom Mid, which will be effective to control any peekers or operator players in that area. It will reveal anyone who’s up close. It will not reveal anyone hiding in pizza or in market.

Doing this is very easy and quick, all you need to do is stand in this corner which is where the barriers drop. Stand by and aim at the wall, just place your crosshair anywhere on it

And then shoot a full charged dart.

B Site:

Coming into B site, this dart will help you catch any defender playing close to get an early pick with an operator or otherwise. It’s also most effective as the key to execute B site is to be quick, and this eliminates the process of trying to clear closer corners before hitting the site. It will reveal anyone playing close . It won’t reveal anyone playing farther back such as in stairs or CT.

To do this dart, come against the wooden box on B main where the ultimate orb is and look at the sign, try to find the letter “P” which is the first letter of the first word in that sign. Align your crosshair with it

And then shoot a full charged one bounce dart.

Sova Lineups - Defending Side

It might not seem inevitably clear how important an initiator like Sova is on defense, but the reality is you play a key part in winning even defensive sides. Utilizing Sova’s ability kit to gather as much information as you can on the attacking team’s positioning and moves can be the game changer and lead to victory. Here are the best lineups to defend and gather early information with Sova:

A Site:

Getting early information is essential on A as attackers can easily take control of the space on A long or A main. Besides the smokes one way, there is no way you can hold them down. This is why you need this lineup, the dart will land somewhere on A lobby on a wall, which will reveal anyone playing there. It won’t reveal enemies if they have pushed far enough into A long.

Doing this arrow is fairly simple, walk up to this corner on A heaven, right next to the wooden box, align yourself with it and then try to lineup your left diamond with the tree in the middle. Specifically at the bottom of it,

Then shoot a one charged bar arrow.

Mid:

Defending Mid can be hard as attackers can burst out from different areas and take immediate control or challenge you for aim duels that you might not be willing to take. This dart from CT on B site, will hit two birds with one stone. While defending B you will be able to land a dart on Mid Link and reveal anyone who’s tiles. It won’t reveal anyone that is already out far in mid or taking cover.

Simply come here to the rightest corner on CT B site, aim your crosshair at that rock you see just like so and then

Shoot an almost full charged arrow with 1 bounce.

B Site:

Defending B site is pretty simple, especially with the known dart that bounces against the roof on B main. However, a better adjustment is more suited as this dart will reveal B lobby and B main, leaving out very little areas that you’re not aware of.

Come to the corner of Lane right against the wall and aim your left diamond (bounce icon) with this brick shown in the picture. Then,

Shoot a 1 bounce full charged arrow.

Pro Tip: These metal lines are unable to stop utility from going in or out, they are just a design that utility can pass.

Sova Lineups - Retakes

Retaking is a part of playing defense, but it reverses the roles as after you’ve lost site it’s almost like you’re attacking to open site again. With that, you need proper lineups and knowledge to corner attackers and ensure your team gets the lead when it comes to positions and info. Here are the best retaking lineups for Sova:

A Site:

sova_ascent_retake_a

Retaking A is fairly simple, many attackers choose to play on site but the real difficulty comes from those who play on A main. Their numbers, utility and postplant strategy. That’s why this dart landing on the wall revealing everyone on A main is probably the best to perform. It won’t reveal anyone on wine.

Simply come into the stairway of A heaven, right as you come up find that line and aim your crosshair on top of it.

Then shoot a double charged dart.

B Site:

sova_ascent_retake_b
Retaking B can get quite hard as the site is more closed up and tightened to the attackers who are holding it down. This dart will allow to reveal lane and site which are key locations and extremely useful to gain information on as you retake.

Simply come to CT, while retaking just place your crosshair on that wall just as shown in the picture. This lineup is not pixel perfect, making it simpler for you to just shoot it as long as you have line of sight with the wall.

Shoot a full charged dart.
