NRG Esports Revamps Roster with Return of FNS and s0m, Benching Demon1
NRG Esports is making significant changes to its Valorant roster. The team is reportedly bringing back Pujan 'FNS' Mehta and Sam 's0m' Oh, while benching Max 'Demon1' Mazanov.
NRG's 2024 season has not been as successful as 2023, under FNS's leadership. The team failed to qualify for VCT Masters Madrid and Shanghai, even after revamping the roster with Demon1, Ethan 'Ethan' Arnold, and Jimmy 'Marved' Nguyen.
With one last chance to qualify for an international event during the upcoming VCT Americas Split 2, NRG is looking to regain its footing. Sheep Esports reported the roster changes, noting that FNS and s0m have been streaming less, leading to speculation that they were scrimming with VCT Americas teams.
NRG's performance has declined without FNS and s0m. The team placed top four in the VCT Americas Kickoff tournament but missed the first Masters event of the season. During VCT Americas Split 1, NRG placed last in its group with a 3-3 match record.
The returning players aim to elevate the team to its 2023 heights, where NRG qualified for every international event and achieved a top-four finish at Masters Tokyo.
