TenZ Speaks Up About The State Of Valorant

Former pro player and now Sentinels content creator, TenZ, didn’t hold back while streaming Valorant on March 14. Even though he officially retired from competitive play in September 2024, he’s still pretty active on Twitch, sharing his thoughts on where the game’s headed in 2025.
While chatting with the viewers, TenZ took a look at Valorant's initial promise. Back when it was still called “Project A.” The developers back then proudly promised “precise gunplay” as a core feature. But TenZ wasn’t buying it in 2025.
“Precise gunplay, huh?” he joked, rolling a clip from the old announcement. “Now look at what ‘precise gunplay’ looks like these days. Red, green, blue — dead. Dead. Orb.” He laughed, comparing it to a chaotic Power Rangers battle where everyone’s just throwing abilities non-stop.
“Seriously, when pros play now, it’s like they’re all mashing their ultimates at once. If a team wants to take the site, they will. You can’t stop it. Best you can do is fall back, play for the retake, and hope numbers work in your favor,” he explained.
TenZ also shared another idea, which is bringing map bans into Valorant like Counter-Strike 2 has. He sees both good and bad sides to it.
On one side, it will help players share feedback to Riot as to what maps need to be reworked before they are played, and also enhances the user experience where you are not forced to play bad maps.
