Riot Speaks About VCT EMEA Issues

Valorant pros aren’t staying quiet about a recent issue regarding VCT EMEA LANs.
During Stage 1 of VCT EMEA, one pro player didn’t hold back after seeing lag mid-match, tweeting:
“On LAN btw... cant wait to watch playoffs on 30 ping :) billion dollar company.”
Turns out, the issue isn’t isolated. Riot has officially responded, confirming that the Berlin studio has been dealing with ongoing tech problems, even during offline matches. In a statement shared before a VCT EMEA broadcast, Riot admitted the experience has been far from ideal for players, talent and even viewers.
What happened?
Basically, the Berlin setup hasn’t been able to hold it together. Riot says they’ve had to shift matches to online servers temporarily just to keep things moving, but that came with its own set of problems, like players now dealing with ping spikes during what should’ve been LAN events.
So yeah, that 30 ping comment is starting to make more sense.
Riot explained that they haven’t had much room to do major fixes mid-season since the studio is constantly in use, but they’re promising to dive deeper into the problem during the break before Playoffs start on May 8.
For now, the community is left watching a “LAN” tournament that doesn’t really feel like one.
Here’s hoping the tech team pulls off a miracle before playoffs, because nobody wants to see another game paused mid-round, especially not the players.
