Valorant Mobile Hits $1M on Launch Day in China with 170K Downloads

Tencent’s mobile adaptation of Valorant has hit the ground running in China with an impressive launch on iOS.
Reports suggest the game pulled in around $1 million in player spending within just 24 hours of release.
Valorant Mobile Makes a Strong Debut in China
According to Appfigures (via Bloomberg), the title was downloaded nearly 170,000 times from the App Store on launch day, numbers close to Tencent’s other big mobile success, DnF Mobile, which released a year earlier. Currently, Valorant Mobile sits at the top of the iPhone download charts in China.
Developed by Riot Games and Lightspeed Studios under Tencent, the game is still only available in China, with no global release date announced.
Much like Tencent’s other free-to-play hits, revenue mainly comes from cosmetic purchases and microtransactions.
While DnF Mobile brought in nearly five times more money during its opening, Valorant Mobile has already secured a spot among China’s highest-grossing mobile titles.
Just last week, Tencent revealed that more than 70 million players had pre-registered for Valorant Mobile across different platforms. However, Appfigures notes that data from Android is harder to track since China uses several different app stores.
