Best Valorant Agents To Play 2025

Picking the right Agent can make or break your Valorant matches. With every new season comes balance changes that shake up the meta, so knowing who’s strong (and who isn’t) will help you climb faster.
Instead of ranking Agents only by high-level pro play, this list takes a more practical approach.
We’ve highlighted the top three picks in each role, given them a difficulty rating, and made sure at least one free-to-play Agent is included in every category.
With Season 2025 Act 4 launching on June 25, Riot dropped some key balance tweaks in Patch 11.00.
Quick Look: Best Agents in Valorant (Season 2025 Act 4)
Role | Top Agents |
---|---|
Controller | Brimstone, Clove, Omen |
Duelist | Reyna, Raze, Jett |
Initiator | Sova, Gekko, Breach |
Sentinel | Sage, Cypher, Vyse |
As of this Act, Jett, Clove, and Omen remain top-tier picks, with Omen getting a subtle buff that makes his smokes harder for enemies to detect.
Brimstone’s Sky Smoke was also adjusted with a new ally sound cue, while Reyna saw a nerf to her Leer, though she’s still a deadly beginner-friendly Duelist.
Sova also holds onto his spot despite tweaks that make him easier to track, and Riot has buffed the newest Agent, Waylay, though it’s too early to tell if she’ll shake up the meta.
Controllers
Brimstone (Easy)
Perfect if you’re coming from CS:GO or other tac shooters. Straightforward kit, 3 smokes, a molly, and an Orbital Strike ultimate. Great for learning the basics and still strong in high-rank games.
Clove (Medium)
Unique even after death, thanks to smokes and a self-revive ult. Slightly nerfed but still great for aggressive players who want to stay useful. Strong in both solo queue and coordinated play.
Omen (Hard)
The most versatile Controller. Smokes, teleports, and sneaky plays. Tricky to learn, but devastating in the right hands. Demands patience and map knowledge.
Duelists
Reyna (Easy)
Simple, self-sufficient, and deadly. Great for beginners, win duels, heal instantly, or escape. She thrives in ranked where you can carry games solo.
Raze (Medium)
Pure damage machine. Every ability hurts, from grenades to Boom Bots. Easy to pick up and great for aggressive play, but offers little utility.
Jett (Hard)
High mobility, tricky timing, and incredible playmaking potential. She’s harder to master now than at launch, but still one of the most rewarding Agents in Valorant.
Initiators
Sova (Easy)
Beginner-friendly recon tools with simple mechanics but high potential. Great for learning map awareness and team coordination.
Gekko (Medium)
Flexible kit with reusable abilities that pressure enemies. Easy to pick up, but requires awareness and timing to use effectively.
Breach (Hard)
The ultimate disruptor. Blinds, stuns, and clears choke points—but demands perfect timing and coordination.
Sentinels
Sage (Easy)
The classic support Agent. Healing, slowing, and reviving teammates make her both beginner-friendly and effective at all levels of play.
Cypher (Medium)
The intel king. Tripwires, cameras, and smokes give him huge map control, though none of his tools deal direct damage.
Vyse (Hard)
Powerful but complicated. Every ability has multiple steps, making her tough to master. Strongest when played with coordinated teams.
