Interview with Aleks “FakeAnanas” Semec, Valorant content creator for Acend
Yoann: Hey, hello everyone! Today I’m with FakeAnanas, Valorant content creator for Acend! How are you, and how would you introduce yourself?
FakeAnanas: Hi, I’m doing amazing! I’m Aleks, most people know me for my Valorant content creation as a flasher, and that’s basically me!
Yoann: Great! When and how did you get into esports?
FakeAnanas: That was a long time ago! I was 13, and I started playing League of Legends, I instantly got hooked watching a tournament. I got to Diamond in a season, which was a big deal at that time! I stumbled into Counter-Strike and Overwatch, and now here I am in Valorant!
Yoann: That’s cool! When did you post your first-ever video on the internet?
FakeAnanas: That was only 4 or 5 years ago, I was just playing for fun and trying to compete, so the first video was just for my friends, nothing serious until more recently!
Yoann: What kind of content are you creating today on Valorant?
FakeAnanas: Mostly ranked, I’m getting Radiant every act, and climbing the leaderboard! I also sometimes organize community nights to add some variety to my streams!
Yoann: Nice! You are also looking for a Valorant team, what can you tell us about that?
FakeAnanas: I’ve always been eager to compete, I love what I’m doing as a content creator, it’s amazing! But I still have the drive and the motivation to compete, and I hope it’ll happen to me one day!
Yoann: Of course! What's your preparation routine before a livestream?
FakeAnanas: I wake up at around 7:30, shower, go to the groceries, or to the gym, then I prepare meals for the day and start my stream at 9 am!
Yoann: Great! How amazing is it to be a content creator for the Champions 2021 winning team?
FakeAnanas: It’s a dream come true honestly! I always wanted to be signed by an org of this caliber, and it’s just a blessing, I love it!
Yoann: Amazing! Let’s now move on to the quick questions part. I’ll ask you 10 quick questions, and you'll have to answer as fast as possible, ready?
FakeAnanas: Yeah!
Yoann: Phantom or Vandal?
FakeAnanas: Phantom
Yoann: What's your favorite map?
FakeAnanas: Bind!
Yoann: What's your favorite agent?
FakeAnanas: Skye!
Yoann: What's your favorite skin collection?
FakeAnanas: Prime!
Yoann: Who's your favorite team?
FakeAnanas: Acend obviously!
Yoann: Who are your favorite players of all time?
FakeAnanas: nAts, Olofmeister, Tarik, and Rekkles!
Yoann: Can you name the eight teams that won an international event?
FakeAnanas: Acend, Loud, Gambit, Fnatic, EG…
Yoann: The three remaining are FPX, Optic, and Sentinels!
FakeAnanas: Ah of course!
Yoann: How often do you play Valorant in your free time?
FakeAnanas: Off stream, I’d say every evening, because I’m doing my aim routine. But other than that, I stream every time I play!
Yoann: What kind of music do you listen to while working?
FakeAnanas: I don’t have music on when I play, but in between games, I listen to pop/rock, or even house and EDM!
Yoann: Great! Can you quote a voice line from your favorite agent, Skye?
FakeAnanas: “Help a girl out, would ya?”
Yoann: Haha, amazing! Let’s now get back to the standard questions.
What are your hobbies or passions aside from streaming?
FakeAnanas: I really like other games such as Escape From Tarkov, it really hooked me! I love to go to the gym and hang with my friends, even though I’m an introverted person, I like to socialize!
I’m trying to find hobbies other than streaming and gaming, but at the moment that’s all I do!
Yoann: Yeah, I understand. How do you feel about the current meta?
FakeAnanas: I love the way it works in pro play, but for ranked, I think duelists have way too much power. The game revolves too much on them, especially coming from someone who plays support a lot!
Unless you carry as a support player, your duelist will win or lose you the game.
Yoann: What would you change to Valorant if you were a developer?
FakeAnanas: I would make it more punishing for people just running around, I think it’s too easy if you have a good aim. I don’t know how I would change it, but I would do something about that!
Yoann: I can understand that! What advice would you give to someone aspiring to become a gaming content creator?
FakeAnanas: Just stream, man! About 3 years ago when I started steaming, I was watching Ratirl’s stream, and somebody asked him how to make a channel grow, and he said “Just stream”! And that made me think because I was super inconsistent at that time, I was like “Okay, let’s try this out”!
I’ve been streaming 6 days a week ever since, I barely take any breaks. And this is how I got here! Try to play with people who are already known in the scene, and impress them if possible!
Shorts and TikToks help a lot too!
Yoann: Awesome! What are your short and long-term ambitions on Valorant?
FakeAnanas: Short term, I’m aiming to get 100K on both YouTube and Twitch! I’m working to start my new YouTube series, I haven’t been posting much on YouTube, so it’s a bit new for me.
Long term, I want to be one of the most-known brands in Valorant!
Yoann: Amazing! Is there anything else you would like to say?
FakeAnanas: Thank you for the interview, I’m grateful for everybody who watches me, this is a dream come true, I’m really blessed to be here!
Yoann: That’s awesome, thank you so much for your time, and I wish you the best in the future!
FakeAnanas: Thank you!
