Sage Off Angle Walls
As a Sage, you’re often required to use your walls and slows to help delay or stop an execute so that you fulfill your Sentinel role duties. But walling off choke points can become very repetitive and therefore, it will be countered. So what do you do? Now you will explore one of the most fun aspects of playing Sage where you’ll be able to create off angles and unexpected plays by placing your wall in unusual but very beneficial spots. Here are the best plays you can create:
For the first wall to use on A site, this will be mainly aimed towards Ramps as you take a really high off angle to challenge for an early duel against those who are pushing A site.
This is what It will look like to use your wall for Ramps, on top of the wooden boxes and line it up so you can play on top of it. This will also allow you to peek A main from an off angle.
This second wall will be for the attacking side aimed at A site as you’ll be able to take an off angle to anyone playing A Heaven. This wall is best used with teammates such as Jett with their ultimate so you can help them updraft and gain full vision and then potentially score a kill.
To do it just come on top of the boxes on A lobby and simply wall yourself up. Then, you’ll be able to see head level to anyone player Rafters on A heaven. With a Jett that’s on ultimate, an updraft will make them see the entire site as well.
This wall might be a little hard to perfect on your first attempts but once you do it you’ll get the grip of it and it’ll give you such an amazing off angle for anyone pushing out of B main.
To do it, you have to come over on B heaven and jump to the wooden box, right before you land wall yourself up and it will end up looking like this. Then, you can have an off angle of anyone pushing out B main or even B heaven. Although this is purely for duels and nothing else.
This next wall on B site will catch anyone off guard. As you know, only duelists get to enjoy the privilege of playing on elevated places, but you as a battle Sage can simply do that too by walling yourself up on this corner.
To do it it’s very simple, stand against the boxes and jump, mid way in the air wall yourself and it’ll take you up. This off angle is going to be exceptional for B heaven and anyone pushing out of B main as well.
This last wall to use towards B site will help you prevent anyone from pushing B heaven. It is perfect for Mid, but with this wall you need to be aware you’re giving away mid control and that Vent players might need to be present to stop their execute if enemies persist.
To do it, come over to the right corner and angle your wall just like this. You’ll be able to stay on top of it you wish and block the choke point.
Sage Plant Walls
Aside from Off Angles and defending sites, you as a sentinel play a very important role in post plant scenarios. Now you might ask, what can you do as a Sage? A slow lineup won’t do or help stopping enemies from defusing the spike. But, you can still use your walls to block off the spike which in return will make it harder for defenders to break it as they retake and try to tap the spike. In rounds where a few seconds are the difference, these wall spots are going to be a round changing play. So here are the best Sage walls to use after you’ve planted the spike:
This isn’t the default planting spot on A site split, but adjusting to it for this wall might be worth a shot. All you have to do is simply plant it on the corner and wall against it, giving it a little gap where the spike is but making it harder for enemies to break after they retake.
This is what It looks like in-game, it’s very simple as you just need to basically rotate your wall in order to get it to plant like this.
For B site, This will be a nightmare to anyone trying to defuse the spike after planting. It’s preferred you plant it for B Main as if you do not it’ll be harder to leave alone and will work against you instead.
This is what It looks like, simply angle it and place it just like so and you’ll be good to go!
