Akuma Joins Street Fighter 6 as DLC Fighter This Spring
Capcom has just announced a thrilling addition to the Street Fighter 6 roster, confirming the return of the iconic fighter Akuma. This character, known for his white hair and fierce determination, brings a touch of nostalgia to the game, reminding players of the passage of time and the evolution of its characters. Unlike other franchises where characters remain ageless, Street Fighter allows its warriors to age, introducing new apprentices to take over when the time comes.
Akuma, also known as Gouki in Japan, is a master of martial arts and a staple of the Street Fighter series since his debut in Super Street Fighter II Turbo. Renowned for his brutal fighting style and relentless pursuit of challenge, Akuma follows the Ansatsuken martial art path, adopting a more lethal version known as “Satsui no Hado” or “Path of the Assassin's Fist”. His distinctive look, featuring a torn dark gi, wild red hair, and glowing white eyes, is complemented by his devastating special technique, the “Shun Goku Satsu”.

While Capcom has not yet revealed a specific release date for Akuma, they have indicated that he will be available sometime in spring, either as an individual purchase or through the battle pass, which includes the first season of gradually announced fighters. This suggests that players can expect at least two waves of new fighters and updates to the game.
Street Fighter 6 is currently available on PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC, continuing to captivate fans with its dynamic roster and engaging gameplay.
