Riot Games seems to be getting in on the action as Xbox Game Pass is expanding its PC repertoire. The developer of League of Legends, Valorant, and other games is collaborating with the service to provide gamers with tons of free bonus content and rewards.

If you are a player who is looking to progress further as well as quicker in the game or want a headstart in any Riot game, then you should consider getting the Xbox Game Pass as soon as the bonuses go live.

This article will explain everything about it and guide you on how the process works. So, let’s get started!

How Does The Partnership Between Xbox Game Pass And Riot Games Work?

It was officially announced on the 12th of June that Riot Games will offer players rewards via the Xbox Game Pass membership program for all of their live-service titles. These titles include Wild Rift, League of Legends, Teamfight Tactics, Legends of Runeterra, and Valorant.

It will be a part of the monthly subscription service, which costs $9.99 USD. Players will passively collect rewards simply by playing once the subscription is active and their Riot account is linked to the Xbox Game Pass. Moreover, they will also get a kickstart if they miss out on some of the content.

Xbox Game Pass Rewards For Riot Games Titles

Xbox Game Pass will consist of rewards for all of the live-service Riot Games titles, including Valorant and League of Legends. Following are the initial details:

There will be Xbox Game Pass rewards for all live-service Riot Games titles, including League of Legends and Valorant. Initial details can be found below:

  • Valorant – The players will get all 18 of the Agents for free, along with day-one access for each new Agent as they are released in the game.

  • League of Legends – Players will receive all 160+ champions for free, along with day-one access for each champion as they are released.

  • Teamfight Tactics – The players will get access to a rotating cast of Tier 1 Little Legends to equip in-game.

  • Legends of Runeterra – Players will receive access to the Foundations Set to help build decks in-game.

  • League of Legends: Wild Rift –  The players will get all 80+ champions for free, along with day-one access for each new champion as they are released.

You will also generally gain bonus experience across the different titles to help you progress through the levels faster. Rewards such as decks, free champions, and Agents will be reversed if players end their Xbox Game Pass membership.

Nevertheless, as per Riot’s Joe Hixson, some other content gained through “normal ways” will stay linked to the account.

Players will also generally earn bonus experience across titles to help progress through levels faster.

Rewards like free champions, agents, and decks will be revoked if you end your Xbox Game Pass membership. However, other content earned in “normal ways,” according to Riot’s Joe Hixson, will remain linked to the account.

He states, “Everything earned from gameplay will stay unlocked later if you let your subscription lapse. That’s part of the reason for the bonus experience that also comes with a linked account. I’ve seen people comparing it to the Riot Unlocked model that’s used in PC Bangs, and that’s very close to what we’re doing here.”

When Does The Partnership Start?

The Riot Games and Xbox Game Pass partnership started on the 12th of December 2022 and will end on January 1, 2023. Players were allowed to link their Xbox profile to their Riot Games account from December 8 to receive the following additional in-game rewards:

  • VALORANT (PC) – Pocket Sage Buddy
  • League of Legends (PC) – Masterwork Chest and Key
  • Teamfight Tactics (PC and Mobile) – Little Legend Rare Egg
  • League of Legends: Wild Rift (Mobile) – Random Emote Chest
  • Legends of Runeterra (PC and Mobile) – Prismatic Chest

How To Link Your Riot Games Accounts To Your Xbox Profile?

Players can easily link their Riot Games and Xbox accounts by completing a few simple steps, which are as follows:

  • Go to the Xbox social sign-in page.
  • Log in to your existing account.
  • After that is done, you will be asked to enter your Riot Games account details.
  • Enter all the essential information, and that is it.
  • You have now successfully linked both of your accounts. The additional in-game items will be rewarded to you after the start of the event.
