How to Fix Valorant “Please Close Other Riot Games Products Before Signing Out” Error

VALORANT has a pretty silly yet frustrating bug that doesn’t allow you to sign out from your account using the game’s launcher. This bug came out with the newest Episode patch and it hasn’t received any fixes ever since.

Although Riot acknowledged this bug, there are still no updates to the matter, so let’s take it into our own hands, shall we?

You will notice the error as soon as you head to the log out tab and find the sign out button locked with it displaying “Please Close Other Riot Games Products Before Signing Out” Surprisingly enough, you would most likely have no other Riot games or products running in the background.

Originally, this message is supposed to show up only when you have some other Riot games open in the background such as League Of Legends or Runeterra but this can still occur even if you’re not using any other riot products.

How To Fix “Please Close Other Riot Games Products Before Signing Out"

There are 2 main ways to fix this issue:

  • Signing Out Of The Riot Client (UX)
  • Delete Valorant’s Cache File

Signing Out Of Riot Client

To sign out of the Riot Client follow these steps:

  • Locate Valorant, On Desktop or anywhere on your PC
  • Right Click It
  • Choose Open File Location
  • Click on the “UX” Folder
  • Find “Riot Client UX” and launch it
  • Once it launches, click on the profile icon at the top right of the client
  • Click On “Sign Out”

Deleting Valorant’s Cache Files

If the first method didn’t work for you, try these steps to delete the VALORANT cache file:

  • Press the Windows Key + R on your keyboard OR search “Run” in the Windows Search Bar
  • Type in the command %localappdata%
  • Find The Riot Games Folder & Open It
  • Delete ONLY The Following Folders:
  • Install VALORANT
  • Riot Client
  • Open VALORANT
  • Launch VALORANT
  • You will be required to Sign In again, don’t worry, it’s completely normal

If this doesn’t solve your issue, you can try uninstalling Riot Vanguard or the game. Don’t worry about uninstalling Vanguard as those missing files will be automatically downloaded when you re-launch VALORANT. Make sure you restart between those steps, and if even this doesn’t help you can contact Riot Support for further assistance.
