Riot Temporarily Disables Valorant Map Split Due to Game-Breaking Exploit

Riot Games recently disabled the popular Valorant map, Split, due to a critical exploit discovered by players. This bug allowed players to access an off-limits ledge on A Site, granting an unfair advantage in gameplay.

As a result, Split has been temporarily removed from several game modes, including Swiftplay, Competitive, Unrated, Spike Rush, and Premier. This precaution remains in place as developers work on a patch, expected in update 8.08, which has no confirmed release date yet.

The issue was further compounded by a glitch involving Cypher’s trapwires, which remained visible on teammates' minimaps even after destruction. Despite its impact, this bug did not warrant disabling Cypher entirely, unlike the Split map. The game's upcoming Premier competitions will now feature Ascent instead of Split, reflecting the map's removal from the pick and ban process.

This decision highlights Riot’s ongoing efforts to maintain fairness in Valorant, ensuring no team gains undue advantage due to map exploits. Players are advised to stay updated for the reintroduction of Split following the bug fixes in the next patch.
