Valorant esports standout Jaccob 'yay' Whiteaker has chosen to take a temporary hiatus from the competitive scene, as per announcements by Bleed Esports. Following a challenging start in 2024, yay has decided to step back to prioritize his health, with details of his health issues not fully disclosed. Bleed Esports expressed complete support for yay's decision, emphasizing their eagerness for his return to action once he's fully recuperated.

Previously known for his critical role in Optic Gaming's success, yay earned a reputation as one of the top players in Valorant, contributing significantly to their Masters Reykjavik win. However, his recent performances have not mirrored past successes, leading to a winless streak with DSG and an early exit from this year's VCT season with Bleed.

Bleed Esports has not yet named a replacement for yay for the upcoming VCT Pacific Stage 2, set to begin on June 15, 2024. The esports community eagerly awaits further updates on yay's condition and his potential return.
