Diablo 4 Developer Joins Riot For An Unannounced Game
Adam Jackson, a key developer behind Diablo 4, has officially left Blizzard after nearly 20 years to join Riot Games for a brand-new, secret project.
Jackson started his journey at Blizzard as a QA analyst and steadily worked his way up, contributing to Heroes of the Storm before taking on the role of Lead Class Designer for Diablo 4.
If you've enjoyed Diablo 4—there’s a good chance Jackson was the creative mind behind it. He played a major role in shaping the game’s class design and was also deeply involved in expansions like Vessel of Hatred and various post-launch seasons.
Now, he’s taking on a new challenge. Jackson has stepped into the role of Senior Manager at Riot Games, working on a project that hasn’t been announced yet.
Riot Brings in Top Diablo 4 Talent for Their Next Big Move
Riot Games has a reputation for taking its time with new projects, but when they finally launch something, it usually makes waves. From League of Legends to Valorant.
Riot has a history of turning ideas into massive successes. With the upcoming 2XKO already generating excitement, anything new from Riot is bound to grab attention.
One of Riot’s most mysterious projects is its long-rumored MMO. The company has been working on it for years, with several leadership changes along the way. In 2024, Riot’s co-founder Marc Merrill even confirmed that development had been restarted.
We would hope that Jackson is going to play a part developing that MMO, but he made it clear that he's working on something completely unannounced. This most likely means, Riot is taking step into a new game category and we're all for it.
For now, details are under wraps, but with talent like Jackson involved, whatever Riot is cooking up is definitely worth keeping an eye on.
