Riot Provides Rewards for Two-Factor Authentication
Riot Games has announced the rewards for users of their launcher who will activate the two-factor authentication.
What is Two-Factor Authentication?
Two-factor authentication is an electronic security measure that permits access to a person’s account only after successfully presenting two forms of authentication. It’s used to ensure people are who they say they are and protect their accounts and information with more than just a username and password, which can be compromised.
Why Is It Important?
2FA system allows players not to worry about their game account and everything associated with it as if cosmetic items or accounts. No one but you can easily use your account and spend money on it.
Two-factor authentication is now available to players who use Riot as their official login portal. This includes Riot game clients, Riot Client, Riot Mobile, and RiotGames.com. Players logging in through Garena and other 3rd party portals will not have the option to use 2FA.
Rewards for Enabling 2FA
Riot Games announced the rewards which you can receive for enabling two-factor authentication:
- League of Legends: Taliyah 'Very Cool' emote
- VALORANT: ‘Keep it Safer’ Gun Buddy
- Legends of Runeterra: Rare Prismatic Chest
- Teamfight Tactics: Little Legend Egg
