How to Win in Fortnite: 5 Tips to Secure a Victory Royale
Are you having a hard time winning in Fortnite? Here are the tips for the best chance of winning in Fortnite Battle Royale.
New players mistake Fornite for being an easy game because of its cartoon-like graphics and the million crossovers this game has. But this is not the case. Fortnite is one of the most difficult Battle Royale games out there. Winning the game isn’t just about having the best aim or superior positioning; you also need good building skills.
The building is a new mechanic introduced with Fortnite and is exclusive to the game. In Fortnite, you can build 4 types of structures; Walls, Floors, Stairs, and Pyramids. These structures can also be edited to make new shapes, adding more complexity to the game. Along with this, other factors can help you secure a Victory Royale in Fortnite.
Here’s how to win in Fortnite:
Practice Your Aim and Building Skills
To outperform your opponents and win in Fortnite, you first need to ensure that your aim and building skills in Fortnite are the best they can be. You can’t expect to go much far if you can’t aim properly. There are two types of aiming skills you can work on in Fortnite; long ranged and short ranged.
Long Ranged aiming means being able to pick off enemies at a distance with your Assault Rifle. You’ll need this skill to be able to give early damage to your opponents if you spot someone running afar. If you miss your shots, you will alert the enemy to your position and lose the element of surprise.
The building is another skill you should be good at if you expect to win a game of Fortnite. Many build battles take place in the game where you will be easily outmatched if you don’t have good building skills. You can practice your building and aim in custom Creative maps specifically designed to help you improve these skills.
Here is a list of some of the Best Fortnite Edit Courses (2022) to help you improve your building skills in Fortnite.
Find a Good Landing Spot
The first thing you do in a game of Fortnite is to decide where you want to land. Most players will just jump off at any random place and not give it a proper thought. But the fact is that the landing spot in Fortnite should not be underestimated.
Where you land in Fortnite decides how the rest of the game will go for you. If you land in an area with fewer opponents and good loot, you are more likely to make it to the end of the game. Otherwise, if you land in an area with a high player population, eg Tilted Towers, then you will have to contest for a weapon and building. And will have to participate in many fights before you can move on to the next stage of the game.
This is why if you want the best chance of winning a game of Fortnite, you should pick a safe landing spot to start your game. Possibly someplace far away from the route of the Battle Bus. This will keep you away from the early game fights where most players are eliminated and give you the time to loot up safely.
Find Good Loot
Having excellent and reliable weapons in your inventory can help you immensely in winning games. Once you have landed in a good and safe spot, it is time to start looting. Most named locations in Fortnite contain plenty of chests that can set you up with great loot.
Not all chests will give you good loot, so you should keep searching them until you find good weapons. You should also look for Legendary Chests, which give Epic or better loot.
Another tip to follow when looting is to be clever with your weapons. You should only pick up weapons you can confidently use. For example, if you usually use the Auto Shotgun in Fortnite, then don’t be greedy if you find an Epic or Legendary Two-Shot Shotgun. An uncommon Auto Shotgun is more valuable to you than an Epic Two-Shot Shotgun if you don’t know how to use it.
Some items are a must-have in a game of Fortnite. For example, you should always have a shotgun in your inventory to kill enemies at close range quickly. You can also keep an SMG in your inventory as a backup to your shotgun.
You should also have an Assault Rifle in your inventory. A good option for this is the Hammer Assault Rifle. Lastly, your inventory should also have some quick healing items like the Med Mist, Mini shields, or Chug Splashes.
Watch Out For the Storm
The Storm is a rapidly shrinking boundary in Fortnite, decreasing the playable area as the game continues. You should keep an eye on the Storm circle using your minimap and make sure that you always stay inside it. Some players focus too much on looting and forget about the storm, which is why they die.
Dying to the storm can be annoying and frustrating, so you should always keep an eye on your positioning. And if you do find yourself caught outside the storm, here are some things you can do:
- Find a Vehicle: You can easily find vehicles spread across the map of Fortnite, which can be used to get to the playable area quickly.
- Shockwave Grenades: These grenades can help you quickly cover a lot of ground in Fortnite. If you find them on the ground, you should pick them up and use them. It would also be a good idea to carry a stack of Shockwave Grenades in your Inventory.
- Grapple Gloves: Grapple Gloves are great for mobility in Fortnite. You should always keep them in your inventory since they can quickly get you from one place to another.
Stay Away From Fights
If you aren’t confident in your ability to win fights, then it would be a good idea to avoid them in the first place. You should actively be on the lookout for players and stay as far away from them as possible.
If you see two players fighting, try to get away from that area while ensuring that other players don’t spot you. Since some other players will likely be coming to third-party them. If someone is attacking you, try to increase the distance between yourself and the player by using mobility items such as Shockwave Grenades or Grapple Gloves.
Once you make it to the final few players, then you can start to take fights and kill players. But only the ones you have to!
