Players who have used the original Creative client will find that Fortnite Unreal Editor is a significant improvement. UEFN takes Fortnite Creative to new heights with a wealth of new features for creators to utilize.

While the Unreal Editor will work in conjunction with Fortnite's existing Creative toolset, it is a separate app. Fortnite Unreal Editor grants creators access to the tools and workflows of Unreal Engine 5, allowing them to design, develop, and publish games and experiences within the game.

So as you can see, UEFN is a massive upgrade over the original Creative client, and players are sure to love it!

Epic Games first introduced Creative mode in Fortnite back in 2018, and it has since become a staple and profitable aspect of the game for creators.

Now, Epic is positioning UEFN as a tool for both experienced Unreal Engine developers and creators who want to take their skills to the next level beyond Fortnite Creative's in-game editing tools.

According to the company in a demo, UEFN features "many of the same features" that the Epic Games developers use to make modifications to Fortnite.

Creators using the Unreal Editor for Fortnite will have access to a Content Library and Content Browser filled with custom assets, models, materials, SFX, VFX, music, and sounds, along with Sequencer and Control Rig.

Further Benefits of Fortnite Unreal Editor

In case you don't find what you're looking for in the Content Library and Content Browser, you can easily import your own content.

Unreal Editor for Fortnite gives creators the ability to design and implement their custom UI and HUD for their experiences, providing them with the freedom to create unique experiences. So, if UI and HUD are important to you, this is great news!

The terrain editor in Fortnite Unreal Editor allows creators to shape the terrain to their liking.

One of the most exciting aspects of Creative 2.0 is Verse, a brand-new programming language specifically designed for Fortnite Unreal Editor. Creators who master the Verse coding language will have complete control over their game or experience.

Players don't have to work on the Unreal Editor for Fortnite alone, as Creative 2.0 features live editing, where teams of creators can collaborate across PC and consoles in real-time.

In addition, Epic wants Fortnite and Unreal Engine assets to be interoperable, so you can share your work across projects.

Creative 2.0 was recently released on March 22, 2023, so players can experience it for themselves. To learn how to download it check our guide How to Download Unreal Editor for Fortnite.
